<B>"MéTODO DE CONTROLE AUTO-ADAPTáVEL PARA UM SISTEMA DE EXAUSTãO PARA MOTORES DE COMBUSTãO INTERNA COM IGNIçãO CONTROLADA"<D>, incluindo um motor 2, um pré-catalizador 4, uma armadilha para a coletagem de óxidos de nitrogênio 5 tendo uma capacidade inicial máxima C~ M~ e uma capacidade disponível máxima C~ MD~ não maior que a capacidade inicial máxima C~ M~ e um sensor linear de oxigênio 7 disposto a jusante da armadilha para a coletagem de óxidos de nitrogênio 5 e gerando ao menos um sinal V~ 2~ de composição a jusante substancialmente proporcional ao título de oxigênio <sym>~ v~ a jusante; o método compreendendo as etapas de conduzir ao menos um processo de regeneração e de conduzir ao menos um processo de desulfuração da armadilha para a coletagem de óxidos de nitrogênio 5 e também a etapa de estimar, ao menos após cada processo de regeneração, a capacidade disponível máxima C~ MD~ como uma função da capacidade inicial máxima C~ M~ e do sinal V~ 2~ de composição a jusante.
