Flooring support
Traditional outdoor terraces undergo degradation generally caused by the expansion of infiltration or condensation water during a more or less pronounced frost.
The invention relates to a floor covering support which avoids the aforementioned drawbacks.
Another object of the invention is a floor covering support, of light construction, which is easy to place and provides insulation by itself.
This problem is solved according to the invention by a floor covering support comprising a set of studs each consisting of a base resting on the ground and an adjustable support adapted to height adjustable on
the base, and a support grid resting on the adjustable supports of the studs and intended to support the floor covering. The adjustable support advantageously consists of a threaded element intended to adapt to a base, a contact washer for supporting the support grid and a head. The support grid is for example made up of a network of vertical blades resting by their edges on the adjustable supports.
Thanks to its structure, the support according to the invention ensures constant evacuation of water and constant elimination of any condensation,
which prevents any vertical thrust under the coating. In addition, the coating being independent from the masonry, it retains free expansion combined with permanent and almost total drying and permanent ventilation. Finally,
the lightness of the support structure also ensures easy handling and implementation
an eventual disassembly just as easy.
On the other hand, the support structure according to the invention can be used with profit, not only for
the coating of outdoor terraces, but also
inside a building. In this type of application, the layer of air trapped under the floor covering provides insulation by itself. In addition, the free space between the elements of the support structure advantageously allow the placement of pipes which remain thereafter always easily accessible for repair work thanks to a simple removal.
of the coating.
The invention is set out in the following based on the attached drawings in which:
. FIG. 1 is a partial elevation view of the device according to the invention,. Figure 2 is a partial plan view of the device of Figure 1,. Figure 3 is a partial perspective view of the device according to the invention.
On the floor (100), possibly coated with a well-leveled water-repellent product to ensure good flatness, a set of adjustable studs 1 is placed. The studs 1
consist of a base 2, having for example the pyramidal shape, having a threaded blind hole 3 and an adjustable support 5 which fits by screwing in the
blind hole in base 2. At its lower part the
base advantageously has a clearance orifice
4 for the elimination of any condensation. The support 5 is screwed into the base 2 at the desired height.
The support 5 has three parts: a cylinder
threaded 6 intended to cooperate with the threaded hole 3
from the base 2, a contact washer 7 and a head 8. The contact washer 7 has water flow grooves 11 on its upper face and a water drop groove 12 on its lower face to allow
the water runoff on the base 2. The head 8 has its domed upper face and has a groove 13
for the placement of a screwdriver, its base has a clearance groove 14.
A support grid 9 is placed on the washers
contact 7 and the height is adjusted by adjustment
supports 5. The grid 9 is for example formed
of a grid network of vertical slats, the slats being able to rest on their edges. The supports 5 can be distributed in different ways depending on the impact resistance and pressure desired. The meshes of the grid 9 can be chosen so that a support 5 is centered in each mesh. The placement of the grid of the grid with vertical blades 9 is very easy and its cutting can be carried out according to any geometric shape in accordance with the periphery of the terrace. The floor covering tiles are placed on the grid 9 and repointed, repointing can easily be
do it with a dagger or with casting. Slab stops can be provided to facilitate the alignment of the slabs during installation and to ensure better hold in place during repointing. On the perimeter of the covering, the connection to the masonry can be made by means of a flashing 15 which seals around the perimeter and rejects runoff water from a
exterior wall towards the center of the terrace. A sheet of paper of average strength and absorption can advantageously be placed between the support grid 9 and the coating 10 to retain the repointing material during setting.
Thanks to its structure, the support according to the invention ensures constant evacuation of water and constant elimination of any condensation, which prevents any vertical thrust under the coating. In addition, the coating being autonomous with respect to
masonry, it retains free expansion combined with permanent and almost total drying and permanent ventilation. Finally, the lightness of the elements of the support structure ensures easy handling and implementation as well as possible disassembly just as easy.
On the other hand, the support structure according to the invention can be used with profit, not only for
the coating of outdoor terraces, but also inside a building. In this type of application, the layer of air trapped under the floor covering provides insulation by itself. In addition, the free space between the elements of the support structure advantageously allow the placement of pipes which remain thereafter always easily accessible for repair work by simply removing the coating.
