Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method for protecting and covering a building facade. It applies either to the finishing of new buildings, or to the rehabilitation of old buildings.
The object of the invention is to provide a particularly simple and economical method of protection and dressing allowing wide aesthetic choices.
- on réalise, à la base du bâtiment et devant la façade, une semelle de fondation;
To this end, the subject of the invention is a method of protecting and dressing a building facade, characterized in that:
- a foundation footing is made at the base of the building and in front of the facade;
- a self-supporting protective and covering wall is mounted on the sole, leaving an air gap between this wall and the facade; and
- We connect the wall to the structure of the building, at each floor, by means of recovery of horizontal forces.
Advantageously, before mounting the wall, a water collection profile is placed on the sole, along the facade, and this operation is possibly repeated, during the mounting of the wall, at intermediate levels of the facade, especially at intervals of a few stories.
- on réalise, à la base du bâtiment et devant la façade, une semelle de fondation;
According to another aspect of the invention, in the case of a building structure projecting from the interior facade at each floor
- a foundation footing is made at the base of the building and in front of the facade;
- a section of self-supporting protective wall and covering is mounted on the sole, leaving an air gap between this section of wall and the facade, up to the level of the first floor, where the section of wall to the structure of the building by means of horizontal force recovery members; and
- these operations are repeated on each floor, each time resting the section of wall on the structure of the building.
In this case, advantageously, a water collection profile is installed on the sole and at each level of the building structure, before mounting the corresponding wall section.
According to another characteristic of the process, only the horizontal joints of the cladding wall are joined.
The subject of the invention is also a building, of the type comprising a structure, in particular of reinforced concrete, which carries an interior facade, characterized in that it comprises, in front of the interior facade and at a distance therefrom, a self-supporting protective and covering wall placed at its base on a foundation sole and connected to the structure at each floor by means of horizontal force recovery members.
In the case of a new building, the interior facade may in particular be constituted by an insulating partition or by a partition provided with an insulating lining, the insulation preferably being extended in front of the floor edges and splitting them.
- la Figure 1 est une vue schématique, en coupe verticale, de la partie courante d'un bâtiment suivant l'invention;
- la Figure 2 montre à plus grande échelle un détail de ce bâtiment;
An example of implementation of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which
- Figure 1 is a schematic view, in vertical section, of the current part of a building according to the invention;
- Figure 2 shows on a larger scale a detail of this building;
- Figure 3 similarly shows the base of the facade; and
- Figure 4 similarly shows a detail of a variant.
FIG. 1 shows a part of a building whose structure, made of reinforced concrete, consists of floor slabs 1 and load-bearing walls or shear 2. This structure carries an interior facade 3 consisting of an insulating partition, and the building is completed by a protective and self-supporting wall 4.
In the embodiment of Figures 2 and 3, the partition 3 comprises, on each floor, a framework, for example metallic, of which a post 6 is seen in Figure 3 and which extends from one floor to another . A covering 7 of plaster or the like is fixed against the inner side of the framework by means of fixing members such as angles 8, and an insulation layer 9, consisting for example of rigid sheets of glass wool, is attached to the outside of this frame. Layer 9 extends at 10 in front of the floor edges and divides them, to remove thermal bridges.
isolants 10. Figure 1 schematically illustrates a variant in which the partition 3 is no longer constituted by a covering doubled at a distance by an insulating layer, but is a self-supporting insulating partition 9A coated on each face with a covering 7A. In this case, as shown, the partition 9A preferably overflows beyond the edges of the floors, as was the case for the plates 9 in the example of Figures 2 and 3, in order to ensure continuity with the elements
insulators 10.
As shown in FIG. 3, a footing or foundation sill 11 of reinforced concrete is poured along the base of the interior facade 3.
A waterproof profile 12, for example metallic, is fixed, for example by means of a layer of mastic 13, on this sole. This profile comprises a vertical branch 14 applied against the insulating layer 9, a horizontal branch 15 covering the sole and projecting beyond the latter, and an end flange 16 folded down.
Wall 4 is made of self-supporting masonry of small thickness, this thickness being greater than or equal to 9 cm. It can consist of exposed bricks, mounted with harped joints or aligned vertical joints. The horizontal joints are grouted with mortar, as shown in 17, and are preferably reinforced with reinforcement if the vertical joints are aligned. The vertical joints are free, that is to say are not grouted.
As a variant, the wall 4 can be made up of cut stones, cut rubble stone or other similar materials, with the desired external appearance.
The wall 4 is mounted on the profile 12, at a distance from the interior facade, so that a continuous air gap 18 exists between the latter and the wall 4.
At each floor, the wall 4 is connected to the structure of the building, and more precisely to the floor tiles 1, by fixing lugs 19 intended to take up the horizontal forces due to the wind. In the example shown in Figure 2, each tab 19 comprises a horizontal branch 20 which passes through the insulation 9, extends to the covering 7 and, between the latter and the insulation 9, is fixed to the upper face of a slab 1 by means of a wooden block 21 and a screw 22. The outer end of the branch 20 has a flange 23 directed downwards and is inserted between two superimposed layers of bricks for anchor.
The facade of the building is completed by a waterproof rain barrier 24, for example made of a sheet of polyethylene, applied to the outside face of the insulating partition and covering the branch 14 of the profile 12.
If the building is of relatively low height, a single section 12 is provided at its base. Rainwater can infiltrate through the free vertical joints of the wall 4, is collected by this profile and discharged through the free vertical joints located at the base of the wall. In the case of a high-rise building, a profile 12 will be provided at intervals of a few floors, for example every four floors. Each intermediate section 12 is then placed between two layers of the wall 4, in the same way as the fixing lugs 19, and the rain barrier 24 is interrupted at this level (Figure 4).
In another embodiment (not shown), the partition 3 is offset towards the inside of the building, so that the slabs 1 project outwards relative to this partition and are overhanging. In this case, a first section of the wall 4 is mounted from the sole 11 (which may consist of the edge of the tiles on the ground floor) up to the tiles of the floor of the first floor, fixed by legs similar to the legs. 19 on the underside of these, then a second section of wall 4 is placed on the upper face of the first floor floor tiles and mounted to the underside of the second floor floor tiles, to which it is fixed by other legs, and so on over the entire height of the building. In this case, a profile 12 for collecting water is put in place at each level of the building.
The same technique applies to the rehabilitation of an old building, in which case the partition 3 is replaced by the old front wall, already in place, of the building.
