Abstract
Un signal de réception provenant du transpondeur (8-13) met en activité la station d'interrogation de manière à transmettre un signal d'activité limité dans le temps à une première fréquence porteuse, le transpondeur (8-13) envoyant à la réception du signal de mise en activité, un signal de réponse avec une fréquence égale à la seconde fréquence porteuse, avec une durée égale à celle du signal de mise en activité, ce signal de réponse pouvan contenir un code d'information/statut, et le temps entre la transmission du signal de mise en activité et la réception du signal de réponse est mesuré pour calculer la distance entre la station d'interrogation et le transpondeur.
