Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable simple measurement of the current position and azimuth of the advancing direction of the moving body by transmitting a scanning signal, an azimuth information signal and a position information signal from a base station and by receiving and operating respective signals at the moving body. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of base stations 1a, 1b and 1c are provided in the vicinity of the course of the moving body 2. At the respective base stations, signals are scanned in the different directions of azimuth sequentially and signals indicating the positions of respective base stations and signals related to azimuth containing informations related to specified azimuth are transmitted therefrom. In the information processing means of the moving body 2, based on the time difference caused when scanning signals are received at three positions, the positions of the base stations and the data on distance between three positions, at least either one of the current position or the azimuth of the moving direction is operated according to a prescribed formula of operation.
