Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the current position, azimuth, etc., of a moving body by providing reference stations in the course of the moving body to transmit prescribed signals respectively, and by receiving and processing those signals at three positions which are located at prescribed intervals mutually. CONSTITUTION:In the course of the moving body, reference stations are provided. For example, reference station 1 transmits signals in different azimuths successively and also transmits position and azimuth relation information signals of reference station 1. The moving body is provided with measuring device 2 and receiving and information processing means are mounted. At three positions 211, 221 and 231 which are located at prescribed intervals mutually, scanning signals are received and at one position, the positions and azimuth relation information signal are received. The information processing means calculates the current position and moving azimuth by a prescribed arithmetic formula on the basis of deviation in time among scanning signals at three positions, and an angle information obtained from the incenter of a triangle determined by the reference station and three positions. Thus, the current position and the azimuth of moving direction are measured accurately.
