Godet distributeur.
<EMI ID=2.1>
la Fig. 1 est une vue en perspective d'un godet distributeur conforme à l'invention et monté sur un récipient à paroi souple;
la Fig. 2 est une vue en coupe verticale, du godet distributeur combiné avec le récipient de la Fig. 1;

<EMI ID=4.1>
<EMI ID=5.1>
<EMI ID=6.1>
<EMI ID=7.1>
<EMI ID=8.1>
<EMI ID=9.1>
<EMI ID=10.1>
<EMI ID=11.1>
<EMI ID=12.1>
<EMI ID=13.1>

<EMI ID=16.1>
<EMI ID=17.1>
<EMI ID=18.1>

Distributor bucket.
The present invention relates to a liquid dispenser and, in particular, to a dispensing cup associated with a flexible container and intended to receive and retain liquid expelled from the container as a result of pressure exerted on its walls.
Flexible-walled containers to which dispensers are fitted or attached have already been proposed for various purposes.
The distributors are for example used to measure a quantity of liquid delivered by the flexible-walled container as a result of pressure exerted on its walls, and several <EMI ID = 1.1> distributors of this type are known.
It has been found that a dispenser capable of containing a regulated or measured quantity of liquid from a flexible container can be used advantageously for the prevention of diseases in the dairy industry. For example, research has confirmed that after milking, bathing a cow's teats in a suitable germicidal solution helps fight mastitis.
Until now, this has been done by pouring a certain quantity of germicidal solution into a separate cup or container in which the teats of the cow are then bathed. The applicant has already developed a more economical construction which allows the farmer to rapidly dispense the germicidal solution, in a measured manner as needed, into a cup which is attached to the flexible container containing a reserve of liquid, this cup being intended to receive the teat.
<EMI ID = 2.1>
flexible-walled container suitable for containing a reserve of germicidal solution and having an orifice which is substantially clear for the teat.
Another object of the invention is to provide an improved dispenser which is particularly suitable for flexible-walled containers.
A further object of the invention is to provide a dispensing cup which is of relatively simple construction and which can easily be used for bathing the teats of cows as well as for other purposes.
According to one aspect of the invention, a dispensing cup open at its upper part, which can be fixed at the end or-. green of a flexible container held a reserve of liquid, comprises a body for the liquid open at its upper part and having a continuous peripheral side wall which sinks or tapers from its open upper end towards one. narrower inner end part which can be
attached to the open end, i.e. to the neck of the container
flexible. The body of the bucket has a bottom in its end part.
you
lower tee pierced with an opening which receives a flexible pipe. The pipe has an upper end portion which is accommodated in the body of the cup near its open upper end, and a lower end portion which is disposed in the flexible container when the cup is attached thereto.
The opening provided in the bottom of the bucket body has a diameter which is less than the outside diameter of the pipe, so that
the pipe fits tightly into this opening and forms a substantially liquid-tight seal at this location. An outlet plug is pushed into the upper end of the flexible hose
to divert liquid from the hose into the cup. The plug has a deflector surface which is spaced from and faces the upper end of the pipe and a rod which extends from the deflector surface and is depressed.
in the upper end of the pipe. The stem of the stopper has several long fins or ribs that protrude
towards the outside and which delimit passages for the liquid
between them. These ribs or fins have free outer end parts which are spaced apart from each other.
a distance slightly greater than the inside diameter of the flexible hose so that the hose is stretched and stretched over the ribs
over the passages. However, when the walls of the container are deformed inwardly, liquid is forced into the body of the container from the container through the pipe and the passages formed between the ribs of the stem of the stopper. Means are
also provided to retain the cap and the upper end portion of the flexible pipe near the side wall of the bucket body.
These aims, features and advantages of the invention will emerge clearly from the detailed description of an embodiment given below, by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a dispensing cup according to the invention and mounted on a flexible-walled container;
Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view of the dispensing cup combined with the container of FIG. 1;
Fig. 3 is a view from below, taken along line 3-3 of FIG. 2, of the pipe plug used in the cup according to the invention; and,
Fig. 4 is a sectional view of the plug and the upper end portion of the flexible pipe, taken along line 4-4 of FIG. 3.
The detailed drawing and firstly Fig. 1 show that a flexible container 10, made of a suitable material such as
<EMI ID = 3.1>
12 which can be used to bathe teats. The container 10 has a neck 14 which has a molded screw thread 16 on its outer surface. A dispensing cup 18 according to the invention is screwed onto the neck 14 of the container 10 and
can receive a supply of germicidal fluid from
of the container 10, when its wall is pressed, and make the liquid (Fig. 2) available for bathing teats, as described later.
The dispensing cup 18 has a substantially inverted frustoconical shape which comprises a peripheral wall 20 delimiting a body 21 intended to receive the liquid 12; 'which tapers or slants from its open upper end
24 downwardly and inwardly to a lower end portion 26 forming a substantially cylindrical neck. The latter has a tap 28 which screws onto the thread 16 of the neck 14 of the container. This being the case, the cup 18 according to the invention is adapted to the torque-10 receptacle by simply screwing the thread.
28 of the neck 26 on the thread 16 of the neck 14.
The cup 18 also has a bottom bottom wall 30 which is an integral part thereof and which is disposed near the open end portion 32 of the neck 14 when the cup is.
<EMI ID = 4.1>
an eccentric opening 34 which is preferentially offset towards one side of the cup 18, as described later.
A flexible pipe 36, preferably of a flexible but elastic material, such as rubber or polyvinyl chloride, is accommodated in the opening 34 and its upper end portion 38 is disposed inside the cup 18, while its lower end portion 40 is disposed near the bottom of the container 10. The outer diameter of the pipe 36, and the diameter of the opening 34
<EMI ID = 5.1>
rement less than the outside diameter of the pipe 36, which ensures that a close fit is obtained between the pipe and the opening. This close fit makes the base or bottom 30 of the cup 18 sub-
<EMI ID = 6.1>
that the liquid contained in the body of the cup above the wall 30 is retained there and does not flow into the container 12.
The upper end portion 38 of the pipe 36 includes an open end 42 which receives a baffle outlet plug.
44. The stopper 44 is designed to direct liquid expelled from the container 10 through the pipe 36 towards the bottom 30 of the cup 18. The stopper is shown in more detail in FIGS. 3 and 4 and comprises an upper wall 46 having a lower deflecting surface
48 which faces the upper end portion 42 of the pipe 38 to deflect liquid ejected from the pipe. The stopper also includes a rod 50 which is integral with it and which extends downwardly from the surface 48 of the top wall 46. This rod has at least one and preferably several passages which allow liquid to flow through. flow from the pipe
38 against the surface 48 then in the bucket 18.
As can be seen in Fig. 3, the rod 50 is preferably substantially cruciform and comprises four fins or radial ribs 52 which form an integral part thereof. The fins 52 define passages 54 between them through which the liquid present in the pipe 36 flows. According to one aspect of the invention, the diameter of the rod 50, that is to say the distance separating the free ends diametrically opposed fins 52 is greater
<EMI ID = 7.1>
when the rod 50 is forcibly inserted into the upper end portion 38 of the pipe 36, the flexible pipe is stretched and tensioned all around the rod, as in FIG. 3, so that it does
<EMI ID = 8.1>
<EMI ID = 9.1>
cution shown in the drawing, the distances or cords measured between the free ends of the fins 52 are substantially equal to or greater than the internal diameter of the flexible pipe 36. For example, according to one embodiment of the invention, when using a pipe 36 having an inner diameter of 3.81 mm, the maximum diameter of the rod 50 may be 4.83 mm and the length of the cord measured between the free ends of the fins may
<EMI ID = 10.1>
oversized rod can easily be inserted into the end of the flexible pipe. However, to aid in this depression, the lower end portions 56 of the corresponding fins 52 may be slightly bevelled, as in FIG. 4, to facilitate this depression.
To ensure that liquid from the pipe 36 is expelled through the plug 44, this plug is provided with means for preventing the upper edge 42 of the pipe from coming into contact with the surface 48 of the plug. Thus, each fin or rib 52 has an upper radial extension 58 against which
<EMI ID = 11.1>
lying in the pipe. The end 42 is thus kept at a predetermined distance from the surface 48, so that the liquid present in the pipe can flow over the upper edge.
42 of the pipe in the bucket 18.
<EMI ID = 12.1>
chon 44 is constructed in such a way as to ensure that the liquid delivered from the pipe 36 is directed downward towards the bottom of the cup, so that no liquid is accidentally expelled over the top edge 24 of the cup, even when the flexible wall of the container 10 is vigorously compressed. The stopper
44 therefore has a substantially cylindrical peripheral flange 60 which surrounds the upper end portion 38 of the pipe 36, as in FIG. 4. The inner diameter of the flange 60 is slightly larger than the outer diameter of the pipe 36, so that the pipe can be accommodated in the flange. Thanks to this arrangement, a free passage 62 is established outside the pipe 36 but inside the collar 60 (Fig. 3).
That is, as the pipe 36 is kept taut over the ribs or fins 52 of the rod 50, the side wall of the pipe occupies a substantially straight position near the passages 54 so that a free space substantial is provided on the outer surface of the pipe
36, between the pipe and the internal cylindrical surface of the flange 60. It is this space which forms the passage 62. However, it should be noted that, when the wall of the container 10 is pressed, the liquid contained in the container is forced upwards into pipe 36 through passages 54 formed between fins 52 and pipe 36, against surface 48 of the stopper, then over the upper edge of the pipe into passage 62 towards bottom wall 30 of cup 18. A positive deflection of the liquid discharged out of
of the container is thus achieved and this deflection substantially overcomes any tendency for liquid to be ejected from the cup even when substantial pressure is exerted on the wall of the container.
To keep the interior of the cup 18 clean when not in use, a cover 62 is attached to the cup
<EMI ID = 13.1>
preferably integrally with the cup 18, the tabs of the hinge in Us'extending substantially radially to. from the cup, while the hinge web is spaced from the cup and forms the cover mounting bracket 62. This mounting bracket can be designed to provide a resilient fit, as in FIG. 2. The cover 62 may also be provided with a locking lip 6 6 which may be engaged in engagement with a complementary lip 68 formed on the upper edge of the body 18 of the bucket.
As mentioned above, the opening 34 provided in the bottom wall 30 is preferably disposed eccentrically in the substantially circular bottom wall 30 (Figs. 1 and 2). The preferred location of the opening 30 is chosen so that this opening is substantially radially in line with the hinge
64, the upper end portion 30 of the pipe 36 being
thus directed upwards towards the hinge. The plug 44, which seals the upper end part of the pipe 36, has means which cooperate with the substantially U-shape of the hinge 64 to hold the plug and the upper end part of the pipe close to the side wall. 20 of the bucket so as to leave a maximum section of the bucket clear to receive the teat. The stopper 44 is therefore provided with an extension tongue or a tab 70 which forms an integral part thereof and which is arranged
(as shown in Fig. 4) at a distance from the outer surface of the flange 60. The distance between the tab 70 and
the flange 60 is chosen in such a way that the upper edge 24 of the cup 18 can be received between them, as
in Fig. 2. The width of the tab 70 is chosen so
to be slightly less than the distance separating the tabs of the U-shaped hinge 64, so that the tab can be inserted between the tabs of this hinge. Thanks to this arrangement, the plug 44 and thus the upper end part of the pipe 36, are held near the side wall 20 of the cup 18,
while their peripheral position along the bucket is fixed, without any other mechanical connection having to be provided between the cap and the cup. By arranging the opening 34 in the preferential manner described above, the required bending of the pipe 36 is reduced and a section and a maximum volume are freed in the cup 18.
In operation, bucket 18 is normally
closed by lid 62 and a supply of germicidal liquid is normally contained in container 10. When a milking is complete, the farmer simply opens lid 62 and squeezes container 10 until sufficient liquid has been obtained. entered the cup 18. When the wall of the vessel 10 is compressed, the pressure in the vessel increases and liquid
12 is thus forced upwards in the pipe 36 towards the stopper
44 in which the liquid is divided into four separate threads in the passages 54 formed by the fins 52. These liquid streams attack the deflecting surface 48 of the plug and are deflected outward over the upper edge 42 of the pipe. The collar
60 then deflects this liquid which flows outwards
down towards the bottom of the cup 18, between the outer surface of the pipe and the inner surface of the flange, in the passage 62 formed between them. When well 18 contains enough liquid, the farmer simply bathes the teat in <EMI ID = 14.1>

or the other under the pressure of the teat. In addition, due to the
<EMI ID = 16.1>
pipe are prevented at all times from moving inward
<EMI ID = 17.1>
<EMI ID = 18.1>
therefore remains free for the introduction of the teat.
Of course, the invention is in no way limited to the detail of execution described to which various changes and modifications can be made without departing from its scope.
CLAIMS S
1.- Distributor cup open at its upper part, intended to be used to treat teats and which can be
fixed to the open neck of a flexible container containing a reserve of treatment liquid, characterized in that it comprises a liquid cup body open at its upper part and having a! continuous peripheral side wall which slopes or narrows from its open upper end to a narrower lower end portion which can be attached to the neck of the container, the bucket body having a wall of
in its lower end part, which is pierced with an opening, a flexible pipe which passes through the opening and
which has a first end portion housed in the body
cup near its open upper end and a second end portion placed in the flexible container, and a stopper
outlet pressed into the first end portion of the flexible pipe,. this plug, comprising means for fixing it with
the first end portion of the flexible pipe to the side wall of the bucket body and at least one passage formed in the plug
to establish liquid communication between the interior of the
pipe and the body of the cup, so that when the walls of the vessel are deformed inwardly, liquid is forced out of the vessel, through the pipe and the plug into the body of the cup.
