Description

<EMI ID=1.1>

d'ue caisse démontable selon l'invention.

<EMI ID=2.1>

 "Removable crate"

The invention relates to a new type of removable box intended more particularly, although not exclusively, for isothermal transport. When these transports are made from a country where the cases are not produced, the cases or packaging must withstand empty transport. This transport, always expensive, becomes prohibitively expensive when the shipment of empty boxes is done by air.

The aim of the invention is therefore to provide a box which can be dismantled in order to reduce its volume when they are shipped empty. In addition, the boxes should preferably be assembled without any accessories, without adhesive, by the only assembly of the constituent elements

<EMI ID = 1.1>

solidity.

For this purpose, the box according to the invention consists of molded panels of expanded polystyrene, of which

the free edges have means for securing these panels together while the bottom and

the cover of the box are made of plates also in expanded polystyrene which fit tightly on the

upper or, respectively, lower edges of the aforementioned panels.

In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the aforementioned means are constituted by a dovetail assembly of the free edges of the panels while the bottom and the cover of the body have

a peripheral hollow fitting into a corresponding peripheral projection, of identical cross section to that

the aforementioned hollow, provided on the edge of the aforementioned panels directed towards the bottom or the cover.

Further details and peculiarities of the invention will emerge from the description which will be given below.

of a removable box according to the invention. This description is given only by way of example and does not limit the invention. The reference notations relate

to the attached figures.

The figure is an exploded view showing, in perspective, the body according to the invention, one of the walls of which is partially removed while the cover, identical to the bottom, has not been shown.

The box shown in this figure consists of four panels 1, all identical to each other. The edges of these panels have a tenon 2 on the one hand and a mortise 3, on the other hand, allowing a so-called assembly.

"dovetailed".

Thanks to a certain elasticity of the material

of which the crates are made, for example polystyrene

<EMI ID = 2.1>

to others to constitute an assembly that can receive

a cover and a bottom. Only background 4 is shown

to the drawing. The cover is identical to the bottom and fits

by a peripheral hollow, similar to the peripheral hollow 5

from the bottom, on a peripheral projection 6 which constitutes the

upper outer edge of each panel 1. The peripheral projection, provided on the lower outer edge of the same panels 1, is embedded in the hollow 5 of the bottom.

At this stage, the cash register is closed on each side

and it constitutes a sufficiently airtight assembly to withstand the shipment of certain goods or to constitute, where appropriate, a thermally insulating envelope of another container. In some cases the box may be surrounded by adhesive or self-adhesive strips.

Although the removable box according to the invention can be produced in any moldable material, the use

of expanded polystyrene offers particular advantages.

In fact, this material offers a certain elasticity which gives the assembly of the panels to one another and to the fixing of the bottom and the cover to the panels a certain homogeneity. This results from the fact that the sliding of the contact surfaces on each other is counteracted by the properties of the expanded polystyrene and by the fact that the cross section of the respective pieces coming to interlock is practically the same.

It is obvious that the invention is not limited

to the embodiment described and that many modifications could be made without departing from the framework of the

present patent application.
