Abstract
A bipolar electrode consists of (a) a valve metal layer, esp. Ti; (b) a (partial) conductive coating of material from Pt, Pd, Ru, Os, Ir and their oxides and mixts. on the anodic surface: and (c) a barrier layer of a silicide, esp. titanium silicide, on the cathodic side of the valve metal layer.
