Abstract

1360915 Coated titanium plates SOLVAY ET CIE SA 30 March 1972 [21 April 1971] 15015/72 Heading B2E [Also in Divisions B6 and C7] A coating of ruthenium dioxide and titanium dioxide is provided on a titanium plate by applying a solution of RuCl 3 , 3H 2 O and TiCl 4 in isopropyl alcohol and heating at 380 to tion of WCl 6 and H 2 IrCl 6 in dimethyl forma- 525‹C. In an alternative embodiment, a solumide is heated at 475‹C to deposit a coating of tungsten trioxide and iridium dioxide on a titanium plate. The coated substrate may be used as an electrode.
