Abstract
The heat exchanger is a bundle of U tubes through which the primary fluid circulates and the secondary fluid passes from the base to top of the heat exchanger. Preheating of the secondary fluid takes place in a chamber around the lower ends of the exits of the primary fluid from the U tubes. The secondary fluid is fed directly into this chamber, which has internal deflector walls for maximum dwell time, and exits from the chamber directly into the boiling zone of the U tubes or into the main feed zone of the secondary fluid.
