<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Fixing for shielded 4-layer covers, in particular hot-dip galvanized boxes for electrical apparatus and installations.
The subject of the invention is an attachment for lids to be folded down on steel boxes, in particular hot-dip galvanized boxes for electrical apparatus and installations.
It is known to fix the covers to the shielded boxes by means of screws which are tightened in the threads of parts of the box. In this case, the fixing is obtained by directly tightening the screws, placed in the cover, in the corresponding threads of the housing. he
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
It is also known to fix the covers to the shielded cases by means of screws and nuts, screws passing through tabs provided on the outside of the case and pierced with suitable holes. The covers can also be fixed by means of studs placed in the housing and nuts.
The fixing can also be done by hinges, the hinge lips being mounted on the outside of the housing and the cover and cooperating with the hinge pins.
It is also common to use hinges with small knuckles provided on the cover. the axis of the hinge passing through a longer knuckle provided on the housing.
The disadvantage of the known fastening systems is that threads have to be machined in the elements of the housing or that lugs or other fasteners have to be provided on the outside of the housing.
In the case of sheet metal housings with hot applied metal coating, the tapping which takes place after the coating has been applied damages the latter in the sense that it destroys it at the site of the thread, which decreases the thread. corrosion resistance of the housing.
-
The known embodiments of hinges have the drawback either of requiring significant machining with chip removal, or of requiring the placement of hinge elements outside the housing, which maintains a good degree of protection but ¯ is annoying when assembling several boxes intended to form an installation and does not allow? ' opening of a cover inside a closed installation.
The invention aims to avoid the drawbacks which arise when using the known fixing methods inside a hot-galvanized shielded casing.
Its purpose is to provide a method of fixing the neck

inside the housing and are therefore protected from any deterioration due to atmospheric conditions. The fixing according to the invention can in no way harm the sealing of the housing or its protection.
In a preferred embodiment of the binding according to the invention, only elements which can be produced by economical methods are used.
All parts can be cold formed without chip removal.
The installation of elements such as the hinge, such as nut support plate, nut. articulation rod, pivots or pins, can be done after hot application to the metal coating, without this being damaged.
In addition, if worn, the hexagon socket nuts can be replaced.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention will be described below in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which: FIG. 1 is a side view of the binding with the cover open; Fig. 2 is a corresponding side view, the cover being folded down; Fig. 3 is a top view corresponding to that of FIG. 1; Fig. is a section taken along the line A-A of FIG.
3 with the cover folded down, and FIG. 5 is a top view showing the mounting of the gussets and the nut support plates.
The plate 2, which serves as a nut support, is engaged in the gusset 1, fixed to the side walls 7 of the housing, by

raised tabs 3, guided in the notches of the gusset, a tab 4 which extends the plate 2 through an opening made 'in a folded tab of the gusset, and being itself folded back' for locking.
The hexagon nut 5, embedded between the plate 2 and the gusset 1, is blocked against any rotation by the notches made in a folded U-shaped part of the plate 2. After fitting and locking the plate 2, the hexagonal nut 5 is trapped below the gusset 1, so that, when the screw 6 fixing the cover 8 is tightened, the application pressure thereof is taken up by the gusset 1, using screw 6 and ± .'nut 5.
Thanks to the raised tab 3 of the plate 2, to the link 9, to the angle bar 10 fixed to the cover 8 and having a buttonhole, and to the pivots 11, the hinge constitutes a system such that, when opening the cover 8, the pivot 11, which slides in the buttonhole of the angle iron 10, forms, by cooperating with the fixed articulation point formed by the tab 3 and the connecting rod 9, an articulation which is located inside the projected side of the cover 8.
As shown in Fig. 5, the plate 2, which engages by its raised tab 3 in the gusset 1, allows the mounting of a hinge according to the invention on each of the four sides of the housing.
