The precipitated oxytetracycline phytate is removed by filtration and air dried to give oxytetracycline phytate. Analysis shows that the product includes
65% oxytetracycline and 35% phytate.
Example 4
Chlortetracycline phytate
Three grams of sodium phytate are dissolved in distilled water and treated with a resin as in the example.
3. Five grams of the chlortetracycline base are then added and the chlortetracycline phytate solution obtained after removing the resin by filtration is evaporated to dryness under vacuum at 30 C. Analysis of the dry powder shows that it is composed of approximately 60% chlortetracycline and
40% phytate.
A combination of the dry powders obtained in the preceding illustrations to constitute acceptable dosage forms, such as tablets, capsules or liquids for oral administration, may involve additional processing. For example, it may be necessary to make powders compact to increase their apparatus density, so that a minimum space is taken up by the required weight of a normal dose. Alteration in the solubilities of taste, color, etc., may also be advisable in order to make the drug more acceptable.
The residual humidity in the powders should be kept at a value so-

The solution was then frozen and lyphilised to give 98.5 grams of a powder of a bright tan color, which assayed 649 mog / mg of tetracycline activity.

4 grams of phytin are stirred in 25 ml of distilled water. The resin is then removed by filtration and the solution is solidified and lyophilized. The product resembles the gold-colored powder obtained in Example 1.

Then, the N-methyl glucamine is added, still with continued stirring, until a fine homogeneous suspension occurs. Finally, add the lemon flavor and stir for 30 minutes,
The new salts of the present invention were compared for their buccal activity with a tetracycline phosphate complex. The process and the results are reported in the following example.
