<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
L'invention
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
On prévoit également
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>

"Device for putting in and out of contact a pair of rollers or similar thread delivery members *, in a textile machine"
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The present invention relates to textile machines and its object is to establish a device that is easy to maneuver, intended to cause a roll to come into contact with another roll or to move away from it.
The invention aims more particularly to establish a device for putting rolls in and out of contact, for a textile machine, a device intended to unwind thread from a winding and to deliver it continuously. In such machines, it is common practice to thread the machine while the various elements of oelle-oi, assigned to a single thread path, are immobilized, while the orga-. The drive units rotate, the stopped components then being restarted using a pedal. The inventors have established a mechanism for carrying out part of the starting or stopping maneuver, this part consisting in putting two rollers in or out of contact.
One of these rollers is controlled, and can be driven constantly in rotation by an electric motor. The yarn is fed from a spool or other food winding and passed between this roll and a second roll, the latter being provided with a surface of an elastic material having a high coefficient of friction with the yarn, the yarn then being leads upwards, through the maohine, for example to a corrugator or crepe machine, then to a receiving winding.
Founding this threading process, the two rollers are obviously kept separate, and the operator must perform a maneuver by foot which, performed a first time, puts the rollers in driving contact, while, when it is executed a second time, has the effect of separating these rolls.
A. this end, the second roll. is mounted on an arm or lever, which can be elastically weighted. The invention
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
also provides a pedal mounted pivotably to a pin located near the arm. An extension of the stem of the pedal carries a rotating star-shaped cam with four radial branches, the pedal assembly being resiliently biased upwards with a sufficiently high force, so as to be able to overcome the weight and ( the eohéant case) the elastic ballast acting on the second roller and the frame thereof.
The star-shaped oame cooperates with an anvil and with two movement limiting pins, the shape and arrangement of these elements being such that, when the pedal is lowered for the first time, from a position in which it keeps the second roller out of contact with the first, the oame turns about a quarter of a turn, after which the second roller can descend, and enter into a driving force with the first. When the pedal is released, elements of the cam come into contact with the anvil and limit the upward movement of the pedal, so that in this case the pedal does not move the second roller from its position. of contact with the first.
When it is desired to separate the two rollers, the pedal is lowered once more, following which the cam turns another quarter of a turn. When the pedal is released, the star-shaped parts of the oame, which were previously engaged with the anvil, do not meet the anvil this time, whereupon the pedal is effectively raised. - killing all of his oourse and raises the arm carrying the second roll, so that the latter is released from the first roll.
In this way, the repeated lowering of the pedal alternately determines the switching on and off of the two rollers, without the need to stop the drive roller and without the operator having to stop.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
perform the operation by hand. As a variant, the pedal may be integral with the arm carrying the second roller.
Reference is made hereinafter to the accompanying drawing, which shows a side view of an embodiment of the present invention.
As can be seen in this drawing, a drive roller 1 is mounted on a shaft 2, which is controlled by suitable means, for example an electric motor, this shaft reigning over the entire length of the machine and carrying a Identical drive roller series. The yarn 3, called upon to feed the machine, passes between the surface of the roller 1 and the surface of a pressure roller 4, the latter having a surface 5 of elastic material in the form of a bandage, this material preferably having a high coefficient of friction with the roller 1 and the wire, while being sufficiently elastic to allow knots to pass between the two rollers, without affecting the relative positions of the latter.
After the passage between the rollers, the wire goes upwards, in the machine, towards a heating device, a corrugator, then towards a reeper winding. During the initial threading, the two rollers are kept apart, so that the pickup roller can rotate freely.
The operator is called upon to perform a foot maneuver which, performed a first time, puts the rollers in a driving position, and, performed a second time, produces the separation of these rollers.
The pressure roller 4 is pivotally mounted in a bearing 25 provided on the end of an arm 6, which can itself perform a limited movement around a pivot 20. The pressure between the two rollers can be ensured by the weight of the roller 4 and of its arm 6, or else the arm 6 may be subjected to additional ballasting by a spring. We also expect
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
a pedal 7, mounted on a rod 9, itself mounted pivotably on a pin 8. The rod has an extension 10, which bears on a rotating cam 11, in the form of a star, pivotally mounted on a ankle 243, this oame comprising four 'radial branches 12, 13, 14 and 15.
The pedal gear is ballasted with a spring 16, with a sufficient force to bear it on the weight and, if necessary, the elastic ballasting of the roller 4 and of its arm 6, the lifting pressure being applied. with oe arm via boss 24.
The oame 11 ooperates with an anvil 17 and with two movement limitation pegs 18 and 19, the shape and arrangement of these elements being such that, when the pedal is lowered a first time from the position shown in which it keeps the pressure roller out of contact with the drive roller, the cam 11 moves upwards, from the position shown, until the notch between the branches 12 and 13 comes into contact with the ohe-ville 18. The star-shaped oame is thus caused to rotate a few degrees clockwise.
On the other hand, the boss 24 allows the descent of the roller 4 and the arm 6, so that the wire 3 is clamped between the respective surfaces of the pressure roller and the drive roller.
When the pedal is released, the branches 14 and 15 come into contact with the anvil 17 and limit the return movement of the pedal, so that the boss 24 does not come into contact with the arm 6, that the two rollers 4 and 1 remain in contact and the wire is delivered to the machine at a speed determined by the speed of rotation of roll 1.
When it is desired to separate the two rollers, the pedal is lowered fully again. In this case, the branches 12, -and 15 @ come into contact with the pin 18, so that the cam rotates once more by a small angle. When we release the
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
pedal, the. cam occupies a position such that its branches do not meet the anvil 7 and that the oame performs a new limited rotation, so that the pin 19 is interposed between the branches 12 and 13 and limits the upward movement of the cam. pedal.
However, as the cam is now in contact with the pin 19 and not with the anvil 17, the boss 24 lifts the arm 6 and, therefore, interrupts the oontaot between the roller 4 and the roller 1. As a result , the rollers interrupt their delivery action. In this way, the repeated lowerings of the pedal produce alternately switching on and off of the two rollers, without the need to stop the drive roller and without the operator having to use the hands to prime or to stop. stop operation. Obviously, it can be seen that the cam 11 turns a quarter of a turn in total during each lowering and releasing of the pedal.
Thus, the movement of the pedal, when lowering it, always ends at the same point, while its return is made alternately to an intermediate or fully raised position, so that the pedal executes either a limited stroke, or a complete stroke, depending on whether the rollers are to be placed in or out of contact.
The crew shown can be connected using an appropriate linkage to other parts of the machine, either to separate or bring into contact another pair of delivery rollers, or to put a false torsion tube in or out of contact with the drive strap, or even for other similar applications, in the event that these additional movements prove necessary.
Although the invention has been described in connection with a pair of food rollers and a foot pedal, it is understood that modifications can be made to the mode.
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
embodiment of the invention, without departing from the scope thereof.
Thus, for example, the roller system can be constituted by a yarn delivery device comprising a driven roller and a strap passing over support rollers, this strap being kept in contact with the driving roller on the support rollers. an arc of the surface of the latter, the wire to be delivered being made to pass between the roll and the strap. On the other hand, and although it has been specified that the device is actuated by means of a pedal, it is easily understood that the pedal can be replaced by an arm or a lever with manual control, and that the invention is intended to cover such a variant, of course.
Finally, the translational roller may be located below, in front of or behind the driven roller, depending on whether one or the other arrangement is more advantageous.
