A) la tension de filage existant entre les cylindres cannelés 1 et le guide-fil 2 ;
B) la tension du ballon existant entre le guide-fil 2 et le curseur 6;
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

The present invention relates to a device for reducing spinning tensions in continuous ring spinning machines for spinning worsted wool, carded wool, cotton, artificial fibers, flax and the like.
In the continuous ring spinning process equipped with a slider as known on the continuous spinning looms of carded wool, combed wool, cotton, artificial fibers and linen, there are three tensions to which the yarn is successively subjected between the splined cylinders delivering the bit and the bobbins on which the wire is returned, namely (fig. 1):
A) the spinning tension existing between the splined rollers 1 and the thread guide 2;
B) the tension of the ball between the thread guide 2 and the slider 6;
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
C) the winding tension existing between the slider 6 and the spool 7.
The winding tension C is greater than the tension of the ball B. The ratio between these two tensions is a function of the friction that the yarn undergoes during its passage through the slider 6, of the force necessary to move the slider 6 on the ring 5, the effort required to overcome the resistance of the air and ae the angle of drive of the cursor by the wire.
The winding tension is therefore a multiple of the balloon tension, and its value in practice often varies between two and three times the balloon tension.
The spinning tension A is in turn, very slightly lower than the tension of the balloon B, in view of the low angle of winding of the thread around the gulde-fll and the rapid speed of the rotation of the thread inside the thread guide.
The voltage of the balloon B which is therefore the voltage creating the other voltages (A and C) is among other functions:
1) From the centrifugal force which depends on: the square of the spindle rotation speed, the diameter of the ball, the weight of the wire. This force is by far the most important in comparison with the forces reported below.
2) The aerodynamic resistance that the wire encounters
3) Coriolis effort 4) The weight of the wire.
5) Weight and type of slider.
6) The wire winding angle.
It should be remembered that between the thread guide valve 2 and the spool 7, the thread is already twisted and as a result the thread has gained a strength which is called the dynamometric force of the thread.
The winding tension C could therefore almost reach this dynamometric force of the yarn without causing a breakage of the yarn which has just been made up. It is different in
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
as regards the piece of thread which is between the grooves 1 and the thread guide 2.
The wire leaving the grooved cylinders 1 does not generally have any twist and it is the rotation of the ball which gives the piece of wire, between the thread guide valve 2 and the grooves 1, its twist.
It is obvious and especially when you are spinning. at low twist that the fibers leaving the fluted cylinders 1 do not immediately receive all of the twist that the balloon will give them subsequently, but only a part. As a result, the resistance of the yarn exiting the splines 1 is much lower than the dynamometric resistance of the finished yarn.
This resistance, which is a function of the torsion coefficient of the nature, of the fineness and of the length of the fibers, will be called: the admissible spinning resistance
Under present spinning conditions, the allowable spinning tension is, in practice, sometimes 1/6 of the dynamometric force of the yarn, and in general its value is much less. As soon as the value of the spinning tension A exceeds the spinning tension which would be admissible for a certain thread, depending on these components, the latter breaks.
The speed of rotation of the spindles which has, as reported. above, a major influence on the ball tension on which the winding and spinning tension depends, is therefore limited, not by the dynamometric force of the yarn between the yarn guide valve 2 and the spool 7, but by the spinning tension that the thread can withstand between the thread guide 2 and the fluted rollers 1, as indicated above and which is of an infinitely less value.
On the other hand, it should be noted that twisting the fibers under a relatively high tension, which is the case with the continuous spinning loom, causes the thread to lose its elasticity.
To reduce the tension of the balloon, one or more restrictors (3, 4, fig. 1) of different diameters were applied and variable speed motors with spinning regulator, of which
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
actually allowed for a certain permissible spinning tension, to increase the speed of the spindles.
However, we are once again facing a speed limit.
The object of the present invention is to increase this limit to a very large extent.
In order to achieve this object, the device object of the invention is based on the replacement of the yarn guide 2 by any braking element having a high braking value, thus creating a high ratio between the tension of the balloon. B and the spinning voltage A.
It is clear that the balloon tension ratio, which is usually about 1.05, can, by virtue of the principle of the invention, reach values 3-4 and more.
For the same spinning tension, it is therefore possible to admit much higher balloon and winding tensions.
The advantages of applying this principle are: A) spindle rotational speeds much higher than the speeds currently achieved; B) lower spinning tension, therefore fewer yarn breaks; C) smoother yarn, in view of the fact that the reduced spinning tension does not give false stretch to the yarn, which happens to the actual spinning machine when working with high spinning tensions; D) a yarn with more elasticity in view of the fact that the twist is given to the yarn under a lower tension; E) higher spool weight since it is possible to spin with a higher ball tension and therefore the higher winding tension; F) easier reattaching since the attendant can perform this operation under lower thread tension.
In order to make the invention fully understood, a few nonlimiting examples will be described below with reference to
EMI4.1
to the attached drawings. (flg. 2 to 5)
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
In these devices, the wire braking element is fixed on the upper part of the spindle and in a movable manner.
It is necessary to allow a rotation of the braking element with respect to the spindle, since the rotation of the former must synchronize with the rotation of the slider 6 in order to be able to wind the thread on the spool.
@
Otherwise, if the braking element were integral with the spindle, the wire would wind around the tube, which would then cause uncontrollable wire tensions, which is the drawback of a balloon-free spinning system such as the one This is known from the star-shaped device made integral with the spindle, applied on a very limited scale in a few threads.
The braking element in the device which is the subject of the invention has a tendency to rotate in synchronism with the spindle and it is the thread of the ball which adjusts the speed of the braking element to bring it to the speed at the cursor.
The ball is therefore driven at both ends, on the one hand by the slider, on the other hand by the braking element.
This makes it much easier to drive the slider onto the ring by the yarn and thereby decreases the relationship between balloon tension and winding tension.
This reduction in ratio therefore again allows a higher balloon tension, and therefore a higher spindle speed.
The actual braking is carried out by any materializable braking element such as brake discs, grooved cylinders, etc.
In the example shown, the braking element (fig.2) consists of a rod 11 rotating freely in the spindle. Rings 8, 9, 10 are fixed on the rod 11, but the position between them can be changed.
The bit coming out of the splined cylinders 1 receives its twist and passes through the braking element as shown by the rod 2. The ratio of the tension at the input of the device, therefore the spinning tension, and the tension at the output of the device. device,
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
therefore the balloon tension depends mainly on the value f
By increasing the angle #, (sum of 1, 2, obtained; by moving the ring 9 relative to the ring 6 and 10 or by winding the wire by a complete turn around the ring 10, we can obtain n ' any value ef and therefore any ratio between the spinning tension and the ball tension.
The outer diameter of the braking device is less than the inner diameter of the tube, thus permitting unhindered evacuation of the tube when lifting the coils. For a restricted internal diameter of the tube, the invention provides (FIG. 3) a driver 12 on the axis 11 of the braking device.
The purpose of this trainer is to facilitate training and therefore the adjustment of the braking device by the ball B to synchronize its movement with that of the cursor.
The radius R1 (fig. 3) being small for tubes of small diameter, therefore making the driving or rather braking moment smaller, the application of the drive 12 with the radius R2 has proved to be very useful.
The driver 12 can oscillate around at point 13 allowing the reel to be removed during lifting without any dismantling.
FIG. 4 shows a braking device by means of a braking element making it possible to brake the wire by winding it on a grooved cylinder 14 making it possible to adjust the angle of winding of the wire (FIG. 4). FIG. 5 shows a braking device consisting of two discs 15, 16, held against each other by an adjustable spring 17 which makes it possible to vary the braking of the threads.
