<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
Figures 1 et 2 sont des schémas de principe respectivement de la brouette "Pascal" et de la brouette, objet de l'invention;
CB = 2 AC
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
CB = 10 AC

Elle facilite le déchargement, par son basculement en avant ;
Elle permet de transporter des pièces longues, sans avoir de difficultés d'équilibre, telles que madriers, poutres ;

The present invention relates to a wheelbarrow oompor both an improvement in its construction compared to that of known wheelbarrows, in order to reduce user fatigue and increase the load capacities of said wheelbarrow.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Conventional wheelbarrows, of the "Pascal" type, that is to say equipped with a single wheel rotating around an axis carried by two side members, in front of the body, do not allow heavy loads to be transported. because the weight distribution is such that a relatively large part of the load is distributed over the arms of the wheelbarrow driver.
This is the case for a "Pascal" wheelbarrow normally loaded with 150 kg. the weight distribution is approximately 100 kg. on the wheel and 50 kg. on the driver's arms *
In order to obtain a better distribution of the load, that is to say:
1) to relieve the driver, and @ 2) \ to allow the transport of larger loads, the present invention relates to a wheelbarrow, the body of which is placed on a carrying axle provided with two wheels each placed laterally to said body. , the axle being placed under it in such a way, with respect to the center of gravity of the assembly, that the ratio of the loads respectively on the two wheels and at the end of the stretchers is, for example, from 10 to 1.
In the case of this load ratio, it is thus possible to transport 550 kgs of goods, without the driver having to deploy a great effort, since in reality he only supports 50 kgs.
The presence of an axle carried by two spaced wheels, on either side of the wheelbarrow body, simultaneously has the advantage of giving the latter such stability that the driver is no longer obliged, as in the case of "Pascal's" wheelbarrow to act on one or the other of the stretchers so that the bottom of the box remains in balance, that is to say parallel to the ground on which the wheelbarrow rolls .
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
It follows that, in the particular case cited above, the driver has more facility to transport 550 kgs with the wheelbarrow, object of the invention, than 150 kgs. with the wheelbarrow of "Pascal".
To facilitate: its unloading, this wheelbarrow is, in addition, according to the invention, provided, in front of its body, with two curved legs, on which it is called upon to tilt when the stretchers are lifted from bottom to top, the wheelbarrow then no longer resting on the ground except by means of said curved legs. In this way, the wheelbarrow is unloaded from the front on these tilting lugs, without any significant effort. It is therefore a considerable advantage over the "Pascal" wheelbarrow which had to be unloaded by tilting. lement on the side.
The appended schematic drawing represents, by way of nonlimiting example, one embodiment:
Figures 1 and 2 are schematic diagrams respectively of the wheelbarrow "Pascal" and the wheelbarrow, object of the invention;
Figures 3, 4 and 5 are views of the wheelbarrow, object of the invention, respectively from side in elevation, in section along 6-6 of Figure 5, and in plan from above.
In Figure 1, A designates the fulcrum corresponding to the wheel of the wheelbarrow, designates the point of application of the lifting force, designates the load center of gravity.
Between these three points, there is the approximate relationship:
CB = 2 AC
In figure 2, A designates the fulcrum corresponding to the axle of the two wheels of the wheelbarrow,
B designates the point of application of the lifting force,
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
C designates the center of gravity of the load.
Between these three points, there is the approximate relationship:
CB = 10 AC
This ratio of 1 to 10 is, of course, given only as an example, it could be as well, stronger than weaker.
In Figures 3, 4 and 5, 2 denotes the wheelbarrow body, the shape and dimensions of which depend on the uses for which the wheelbarrow is intended. Thus it may or may not be without side walls or provided with fixed or removable sides. The bottom of the body is carried by two side members 3, the front ends of which protrude somewhat in front of the body, or end in the form of a rocker, while the rear ends extend to form the stretchers 4, Under these side members 3 are fixed two bearings 2. in which rotates an axle .2 on which the wheels 7 are wedged laterally to the body 21.
These can be, in whole or in part, metal or wood, and in both cases may or may not be provided with flexible or pneumatic tires. According to an alternative embodiment, the wheels can be mounted idly on the axle 6 which can then be fixed under the bottom of the body. The wheels can be fitted either for roller bearings or ball bearings, or for ring bearings, or any other means capable of improving the friction and operating conditions.
The axle 6 can moreover be mounted in a fixed or longitudinally movable manner under said base; in the latter case, the user can then distribute the load, on the wheels and on the stretchers, according to his wishes:
Thus, the removable fixing of the axle can be obtained by moving the bearings in fixing holes.

the posit: f ,. l \ â ë s i rees or even through oval holes in the frame of the wheelbarrow.
As for the wheels: They can be moved as close as possible to the body 2 to limit the bulk, or well apart to increase the stability of the wheelbarrow, in order to allow the transport of long pieces loaded in the direction perpendicular to the march, such as beams or various structural members.
This wheelbarrow is finally provided, in front of its body 2 with curved lugs 8 bearing on the one hand, at the front ends of the side members 3, and on the other hand, at the top of the body.
Unloading the wheelbarrow is then facilitated. It suffices, in fact, to tilt the wheelbarrow first around its wheels 1 and then, when the legs 8 touch the ground, around them. Effortlessly, the wheelbarrow is thus unloaded.
The wheelbarrow, object of the invention, therefore has the following main advantages:
It can carry weights 2 to 5 times and even ten times greater than those carried on a "Pascal" wheelbarrow; @ It allows the use of bulky crates (150 liters and more), which makes it possible to transport very large quantities of rather light and bulky materials:
It facilitates unloading, by tilting forward;
It makes it possible to transport long pieces, without having difficulties of balance, such as planks, beams;
It makes it possible to reduce user fatigue even for much more intense work.
