 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 EMI2.1
 col est recourbé de telle manière qu'il forme un épaulement approprié pour un ressort entourant le col sans qu'il soit nécessaire de recourir à un liant quelconque, lequel ressort est monté de telle manière qu'après le sectionnement du col au-dessus du ressort, ce dernier, à la suite de la pression exercée sur le tube, est chassé élastiquement vers l'avant par le contenu du tube   et laisse passer une quantité appropriée du contenu, après quoi ;

   AUTOMATICALLY CLOSABLE CREAM TUBE, IN PLASTIC OR SIMILAR MATERIALS.

   The present invention relates to an automatically closable cream tube for pastes or similar materials that are more or less viscous. It is of the type which comprises a sleeve closed at one end, made of plastic, cellophane, paper or the like, and is characterized in that the other end of the tube has the shape of a neck of diameter less than sleeve and open towards the latter, but hermetically closed to the outside air, which neck is surrounded by a spring arranged in such a way that, the neck being cut above the spring, the latter, due to pressure on the tube, is elastically forced outwards by the contents of the tube, so that an appropriate amount of the contents can come out, after which the spring automatically compresses the neck and thus seals the tube,

   when pressure ceases to be applied to the tube.

   An embodiment of the tube according to the invention is shown by way of example in the accompanying drawing.

   Figure 1 shows a front view of a hermetically sealed tube. Figure 2 shows a side view of the same tube and Figure 3 a detail of the tube.

   In the drawing, 1 denotes the sleeve-tube, preferably constituted by a pipe of plastic, cellophane, paper or other suitable material.

  One of the ends of the sleeve is open, but after the introduction of the contents, it is sealed, preferably by welding along the edge 2. The other end of the sleeve is narrowed so as to form a neck. The edges 3 and 4 of the latter are welded together, so that the tube is hermetically sealed vis-à-vis the outside air. The edges 4 of the neck are slightly recou-rbé towards the edges 3 and a spring 5, surrounding the neck, is mounted right side up

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 where edges 4 and 3 meet. The spring is preferably flat and one of its ends is curved over the other free end of the spring.

  The branches of the spring are compressed so as to bear elastically on one another. The spring does not need to be glued to the neck.

   Before using the tube, the neck is cut along the dotted line 6, and by exerting pressure on the tube, the contents push the branches of the spring apart, so that an appropriate amount of the contents can pass, after which the spring Automatically presses the neck and closes the tube, when the pressure stops being exerted on the tube.

   The tube according to the invention is extremely inexpensive to manufacture compared to other much more expensive metal tubes. It completely replaces them and all the difficulties inherent in the screwing devices used until now disappear. The tube is very suitable for semi-liquid foodstuffs, such as caviar, mayonnaise, sauces or the like, as well as for all kinds of toilet creams, polishes or paste soaps, etc. The outer face of the tube may be provided with advertising texts.

   CLAIMS.

   1. Automatically closable cream tube, comprising a sleeve of plastic, cellophane, paper or the like, closed at one of its ends, characterized in that the other end of the tube has the shape of a coL of diameter smaller than that of the sleeve and open towards the latter, but hermetically sealed to the outside air, which

 neck is bent in such a way that it forms a suitable shoulder for a spring surrounding the neck without the need for any binder, which spring is mounted in such a way that after severing the neck above the neck. spring, the latter, as a result of the pressure exerted on the tube, is elastically driven forward by the contents of the tube and allows an appropriate amount of the contents to pass, after which;

   spring automatically compresses the neck and closes the tube, when pressure ceases to be exerted on the tube.
