<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
REVENDICATIONS.-

INSTALLATION FOR THE SUPPLY OF GAS, A, FROM LIQUEFIED GAS.
The present invention relates to an installation for the supply of gas from liquefied gas comprising, on the one hand, a receptacle which contains liquefied gas and, on the other hand, a pipe for evacuating the gas coming from. vaporization of the liquid when a valve with which this pipe is provided is open, said pipe terminating inside this container at a point towards the top thereof.
Installations of this kind are employed to supply fuel gas such as butane, propane to gas heaters. They have the disadvantage that 1-'user does not realize that he has consumed all the contents of the container when the heating device no longer receives gasoline.
At this time he is obliged to wait for someone to come and install a new container in working order if he has not wanted, in order not to immobilize a relatively large capital for a long time, to carry out the preliminary installation of a second receptacle connected in parallel with the first.
The object of the present invention is an installation thanks to which the user is warned at a given moment that he only has a limited quantity of liquefied gas at his disposal, a moment from which he can, without particular urgency. , replace the container that it has completely emptied with one in working order.
To this end, the installation according to the invention is characterized in that the said container is in communication with an auxiliary tank at a lower level via another pipe terminating at a point towards the bottom of this container, in that this pipe is provided with two taps respectively, one between the container and a removable connector and the other between the removable connector and the auxiliary tank and in that the installation is furthermore provided with a descent alarm liquid below a certain level below the above-mentioned container
In an advantageous embodiment, the aforementioned warning device
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
takes a float visible from the outside.
Preferably, the aforementioned float is situated between the removable connection and the aforesaid auxiliary tank.
According to a particularly simple embodiment, the aforesaid float is mounted opposite a window through which it is visible in one of the positions that it can occupy while the liquid in which it floats drops in level. between the aforementioned container and tank.
Other features and details of the invention will become apparent from the description of the drawings appended hereto, which represent schematically, and by way of example only, some embodiments of the installation according to FIG. 'invention.
FIG. 1 is a vertical section in a first embodiment of the installation according to the invention.
Figure 2 shows part of a variant of this installation.
In these two figures, the same reference notations designate identical elements.
The installation shown in FIG. 1 comprises, on the one hand, a container 2 containing a liquefied gas, for example butane, up to level 3 and, on the other hand, a pipe 4 serving for the evacuation of the gas to a user device, in this case a heating device.
Line 4 passes through the bottom 5 of the container 2 and terminates near the top of the latter. The space between a horizontal plane at the level of the upper end 6 of the pipe 5 and the top of the container 2 is, for example, at most 4% of the capacity of this container. Line 5 is equipped, like the usual gas discharge lines in known installations, with a valve 7 which can be operated by the user and a pressure regulating valve 8. The valve 7 is carried by the receptacle 2. while the regulator 8 belongs to the fixed part of the installation.
The bottom 5 of the container 2 is further crossed by another pipe 9 which ends inside this container near the bottom 5 and which is provided with a tap 10, located between the container 2 and a demon connector. - table 11.
Line 9 puts this container in communication with an auxiliary tank 12 located lower than it. It is also provided with a valve 13 and a float 14 between the removable connector 11 and this auxiliary reservoir. The valve 13 is placed between the latter and the float 14 so as to allow the replacement of the receptacle 2 before complete emptying of the auxiliary tank 12. It suffices, in fact, to carry out the replacement at this time to close the valve 13. The float 14 is in connection with a position warning member which is in the form of a window 15 through which it is visible in one of the positions it occupies during. that the liquefied gas drops in level between the receptacle 2 and the auxiliary tank 12.
The valves 10 and 13 are devoid of a permanent operating member so that the user cannot accidentally modify the position which has been given to them by the installer. Preferably, they are made so that no can maneuver them only with a key of a particular shape.
To assemble an installation such as the one just described, the taps 7, 10 and 13 are closed and the connection is made at 11. The taps 10 and 13 are then opened. The liquefied gas automatically fills the tank. auxiliary tank and the float 14 comes to occupy the highest position that it can take in a chamber 16 which contains it. It is then visible next to window 15. As soon as the regulator 8 has been connected at 14, the user can use the installation.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Whenqt. there is no more liquid in the container 2 ;, the level drops rapidly in the pipe 9 and the float 14 goes down to a position where it is no longer visible, which warns the user that it only has a limited amount of liquid left.
From this moment, that is to say long before the auxiliary tank 12 is empty, the container 2 can be replaced by another in working order. For this, it suffices for the installer to close the tap 13 and remove the receptacle 2 before proceeding as indicated above for the assembly of the installation.
Figure 2 shows that the container 2 need not necessarily have its longitudinal axis directed vertically. It suffices that the pipes 4 and 9 end at the places which have been specified above.
It is obvious that the invention is not exclusively limited to the embodiments represented and that many modifications can be made in the form, the arrangement and the constitution of some of the elements involved in its realization, provided that these modifications are not in contradiction with the object of each of the following claims.
It goes without saying, for example, that the window 15 could be located so that the float 14 is visible when it occupies its lower position in the chamber 16. One can also imagine that the level of the liquid below the container 2 is indicated without the intermediary of a gold fleet. In particular, this level can be made visible by the use of an auxiliary reservoir 12 made of transparent material, for example of transparent synthetic resin. The level indicator can also be other than a visual device, for example, an audible warning device, the operation of which is controlled by the level of the liquid.
