MACHINES'POUR PASSER-ET EPULPER ET MACHINES' POUR RAFFINER'LES
EMI1.1
Dans la machine suivant 15'invention, le couvercle de l'envelop- pe est fixé à cette dernière par des moyens rapidement démontables et est muni en con centre d'un coussinet porteur pour l'arbre des spatules ;

<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
machine.

MACHINES 'FOR PASS-AND-DEPULPERS AND MACHINES' FOR REFINING '
EMI1.1
'TOMATOES AND. ,? 3 'Jï: RUprS19: R.APirDEMENT; DEMONTABThES'.
Machines for sifting and pulping tomatoes or fruits and refining pulps and juices, used in the canned food industry, generally consist of a casing which encloses a cylindrical sieve in which a shaft rotates carrying spatulas which crush the product against the sieve, dragging it along the surface of the sieve and passing the pulpy part through the holes.
The cleaning of these machines, which must be done after each stoppage of work, is extremely important, because the pulp of fruits, and especially tomatoes, is easily subject to rancidity, with the formation of mold which spreads quickly, which constitutes a serious danger of deterioration for whole batches. The internal cleaning of these machines is generally carried out using water jets directed through the removable parts of the casing and into the sieve; when a radical cleaning is to be carried out, the machine must be partially dismantled, which entails a long and expensive work and inevitably has repercussions in practice on the frequency of cleaning operations.
The object of the present invention is to provide a machine of the type specified above in which the complete disassembly of the parts which are to be cleaned can be carried out in a very short time, of the order, for example, of two at three minutes, thus permitting frequent and economical cleaning of the parts concerned and, ultimately, a better quality of the product obtained in such machines
In the machine according to the invention, the cover of the casing is fixed to the latter by means which can be quickly removed and is provided in the center with a bearing bearing for the shaft of the spatulas;
this cover when it is fixed on the casing presses against a seat of the casing itself an end part of the sieve, the other end part of the latter being threaded on a support device carried by the bottom opposite of the envelope; in addition, the spatula support members, at the
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Instead of being integral with 1-'arbre, are threaded with axial play on this shaft, their axial movement relative to the shaft being however blocked using a quickly removable means. Preferably, the other parts of the machine are made quickly removable.
The description which will follow, given with reference to the accompanying drawings, given only by way of non-limiting example, will make it clear how the invention can be put into practice.
Figure 1 is a side view of a machine according to the invention.
Figure 2 is a partially cut away section of the upper part of the machine.
Figure 3 is an enlarged side view of the cover side.
FIG. 4 shows, in section, the detail of the fixing of the cover on the envelope.
The machine illustrated in the drawings consists of a frame 1 carrying a casing 2 of substantially cylindrical shape; envelope is closed at its ends by a bottom 3 and a cover 4. The bottom 3 is provided with an annular internal projection 5 which forms a cylindrical support seat for a sieve 6, the other end of which engages in a conical seat 7 of the ring 8 which completes the casing 2 and supports the cover 4. The cover 4 is fixed on the ring 8, in a manner which can be seen more clearly in FIG. 4, using wing nuts 9 screwed onto studs 10 integral with ring 8.
The base 3 centrally carries a bearing 11 and, in a similar manner, a bearing 12 is carried by the cover 4. These two bearings support a shaft 13 which, on the side of the base 3, is driven in rotation by any motor 14 , fixed for example on the same frame 1.
The bearing 12 has a conical entry towards the interior of the casing, which facilitates the insertion of the shaft 13 when the cover 4 is to be mounted on the casing 2.
On the shaft 13 is threaded a tubular part 15 which is angularly connected to the shaft 13 by a key 16 or another equivalent member and which bears axially against a bearing surface 17 of the shaft 13 against which it is pressed by a threaded sleeve 18 which screws onto a thread of the shaft 13 and provided with handles 19 for rapid rotation and robust clamping.
To the tubular part 15, by means of arms 20 are connected spatulas 21 slightly inclined with respect to the generatrices of the sieve 6 and located at a short distance from the internal surface of the latter.
The bottom 3 is further provided with an orifice 22 for the introduction of the material to be worked, while the cover 4 is provided with an orifice 23 for the extraction of the parts of the product which have not passed through the screen 6. Two side pieces 24 of the casing 2 are fixed thereon by means of an elastic snap device 25. The lower part of the casing 2 is open and in correspondence with it is applied a small tray 26 which rests at 27 on Panel 8 and is retained relative to the bottom 3 by a quick-picking bracket 28.
From the foregoing description, it follows, obviously, that with few and rapid operations it is possible to dismantle the machine in all its components which require the careful cleaning indicated above. In fact, by unscrewing the wing nuts 9 it is possible to easily remove the cover 4, the removal of which has the consequence of eliminating one of the connections of the screen 6.
The threaded sleeve 18 also remains easily accessible and can be quickly unscrewed by means of the handles 19, after which the assembly constituted by the. tubular part 15, the arms 20 and the spatulas 21 can be easily removed from the shaft 13 and extracted from the
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
After having removed this assembly, which would have constituted an obstacle to the disassembly of the sieve if the latter would have been conical, it is possible to remove the latter, which is no longer held against the conical seat 7, by removing it. simultaneously sliding on the seat 5 and extracting it through the opening left free by the removal of the cover 4.
All the parts through which the product works are therefore made available for efficient washing outside the machine. However, it is also possible, by a very rapid operation of the caliper 28, to also remove the drip tray 26 , after having possibly detached it from the other parts of the machine or of the installation, if it exists, by releasing the quick-seal plug 29 using the handles with which it is provided.
Likewise, the parts 24 of the casing can be immediately dismantled simply by grasping them by the handles 31 and extracting them ;, since it is sufficient to overcome the resistance of the spring-click devices 25.
Naturally, all the construction details illustrated above are susceptible of numerous variations which are within the reach of those skilled in the art, once they are aware of the foregoing description. For example, the screen can be cylindrical or. conical, and its holes may be more or less large, depending on whether the machine is to be used to pass and pulverize or must perform the function of refiner to treat the pulp already deprived of the coarse parts of the skins through a passing machine and to be pulped.
Of course, such variants come within the scope of the present invention)) even if they are not described explicitly and in detail.
