CONTROL MECHANISM FOR BAGUETTES BAKING TRADES.
The present invention relates to a control mechanism for a rod loom with a rod guide carriage moving in a reciprocating rectilinear movement and driven by a system of levers controlled by a pendulum oscillating around a fixed point.
Its object is to obtain variable speeds for the carriage and more particularly to allow slowing down and even stopping at the extreme positions, but nevertheless to ensure movement between these positions at speeds compatible with the performance of the loom.
This mechanism is characterized essentially in that the oscillation movement of the balance is produced by a connecting rod which on the one hand is mounted eccentrically by. one end around an axis of rotation, which can act on a slide moving in a slot of the balance and which beyond this slide is in articulated connection with a lever able to oscillate around a fixed axis carried by the built.
In order to make the invention fully understood, an exemplary embodiment thereof will be described below, without limitation, with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Figure 1 shows in elevation a control mechanism according to the invention.
Figures 2, 3, 4 and 5 schematically represent different positions of this mechanism.
FIG. 6 is a diagram showing the trajectory of the various positions of the slide moving in the slot provided in the balance.
In the accompanying drawings, there is schematically shown at 1 the carriage which moves in a rectilinear back-and-forth movement while being guided on a beam 2 superimposed and fixed to a beam 3 making by-

In accordance with the invention.!) The control mechanism for the oscillatory movement of this balance comprises a toothed wheel 14 driven by a toothed pinion 15 and on which is fixed 16 eccentrically with respect to the axis of rotation 17 a connecting rod 18. which can move in a sleeve 19 carried by a slider 20 moving in a window 21 of the

At its end opposite to that connected to the journal 16 the connecting rod 18 saartienle in 24 on a lever 22 mounted on a journal 23 'carried by the beam 3 forming part of the frame
A chain 24 passes over the toothed wheel 11, the ends of which are attached to tenons 25 integral with the sector 26 and directed towards

19axe 130 Instead of sector 26a, a fixed toothed wheel could be provided.
Under these conditions, the connecting rod 18 is driven by the wheel 14 and through the intermediary of the slider 20 drives the balance 12 in an oscillatory movement around the axis 13.
EMI2.4
Under Perret of the oscillating movement of the balance 329, the toothed wheel 11 will be driven in a rotational movement by the chain 24 and 19 axis 10 will move along an arc of a circle determining the rectilinear and reciprocating movement of the carriage the
Thanks to the arrangement described, the movements of the balance 12 and those of the carriage 1 occur in a particular manner shown schematically in Figures 2 to 6.
In the position of FIG. 2, the balance 12 occupies the position 121 and the connecting rod 18 the position 18 corresponding to that 16 of the journal 16.
This balance 12 is at the end of its movement towards the ar-

proud, the backward movement being that effected by this lever when it moves away from the fabric. The leaf is then completely closed against the fabric.
EMI2.6
While the wheel 14 turns ds./8 of a turn in the direction of the arrow F (figo 6), the lever 12 remains in position 121 in figure 6 but the slide 20 goes from to 20a (fig. 6) A this stop of the swing 12 corresponds to a stop of the carriage 1 and 1 oirvert + re of the rod guide In this opening, the rods do not receive any forward movement and are not subjected to any vibration. This movement d 9 ogxvert e can therefore take place relatively quickly.
During the rotation of the wheel 14 from the corresponding position
EMI2.7
dant to that 20 of the slide to that 162 of the journal 16 (fig. 3 and 6) and 18 of the connecting rod 18, the balance 12 moves at high speed until it occupies position 12 (fig. 3) 3 9 to these movements correspond to a rapid movement of the carriage which is that of the introduction of a rod. and such that when the leaf is in its rear position at the bent marble neutral the carriage is at full speed and does not exert any undesirable stress on the loom.

18 (rigo 5) there is a gradual slowing down of the balance 12 which passes from position 12 to position 12 (fig. 4h when-the clapper is completely against the fabric 9 the stick is at the end of its movement introduction into the tissue.
The trolley can then take another rod to pull it backwards, but at the moment of taking or picking up this rod, a very slow march takes place (part p of the trajectory T -

It should be noted that this stop position does not correspond to the neutral point of the crankshaft.

The passage from position 185 of FIG. 6 to that 181 of FIGS. 2 and 6 via position 124 - 184 of FIG. 5 takes place at a slow and uniform rate so as to avoid breaking the rod. te as it is pulled out of the fabric.
