PRESSE A BALLOT-COLLECTEUR.
La Fig. 4 est une vue schématique de profil de la presse à ballotcollecteur ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
(Fig.
8a). -

BALL PRESS-COLLECTOR.
The invention relates to balers-collectors for straw, hay and other crops of this kind in which a collecting drum is arranged on a carriage on which is arranged a bale press in the longitudinal direction of movement. In known machines of this type, the collecting drum is arranged in front of a collecting table on which it lifts the crop and above which the latter is moved by a transverse conveyor towards a side loading opening of the press channel.
A cross conveyor serving this purpose, which is distinguished by simple construction and safe walking, forms the object of the present invention. This is characterized by one or more conveyor elements extending above the collecting table over its entire width and provided with transport pallets which move parallel to the axis of the collecting roller so that, during forward travel in the direction of the side loading opening of the baler channel, its transport pallets penetrate from above into the harvested material on the collecting table, and during its reverse travel its transport pallets pass without produce an effect above the harvested material.
Other features of the invention are described below, on some examples of construction, with reference to the drawings.
Figs. 1-3 show three different forms of construction of a transverse conveyor according to the invention, in a schematic front view of the collector bale press.
Fig. 4 is a schematic side view of the collector bale press;
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Fig. 5 shows a particular feature, and FIG. 6 the diagram of a transverse conveyor combined with an oscillating tamper; Figs. 7 to 9 show three other diagrams of a transverse conveyor combined with tampers which are different from each other, as well as those shown in FIG. 6; Figs. 7a and 8a represent enlarged features of Figs. 7 and 8.
The rotary collecting roller 2, provided in known manner with spring vanes 1; is covered by a fixed drum envelope 3 through the rents 4 of which-the pallets 1 lifting the collected material, protrude outside.
@
The roller 2 can be controlled in any way, for example by a motor 6 also controlling the bale press and the transverse conveyor, etc., or else from the toothed shaft of a tractor by the intermediary of a chain drive 7, so as to allow height adjustment of the collecting roller 2 around an oscillating axis 8.
To the casing of the drum 3 is tangentially connected at the rear a horizontal collecting table 9 which is at a height of a lateral loading opening 10 of the channel of the press 11 disposed longitudinally in the forward direction and on which the roller collector 2 lifts the material from the crop.
Above this collecting table 9 is arranged, according to the present invention, one or more of a conveyor element provided with transport pallets 14, 15, le) or respectively 17, which extends over the entire surface. width of the table, can move parallel to the axis of the roller collector 2, picks up the harvested material from the collector table below it and transports it towards the side loading opening 10 in the channel of the father, sse 11 above the table 9.
The transport pallets 14, 15, 16 can, as shown in FIG. 1, belong to a conveyor element forming a rake 12 articulated at its two ends to cranks 13 or respectively 13 'mounted on the fixed frame of the machine, and driven by a rotational movement for example by a chain drive 18, 19 so that the transport vanes 14-16 move in the direction of the press channel 11 in the lower half of their circular paths corresponding to the circles of the cranks, and in reverse on the upper halves of the paths .
11, as a result that they transport the harvested material, lifted on the table 9 by the collecting roller 3 transversely over the entire width of the table in the press channel. @
In the form of construction according to Fig. 2, a transport pallet 17 is carried by an endless conveyor element, for example a chain 20, which extends to the. above the collector table 9 over its entire width and over part of the width of the press channel 11, and passes over terminal pulleys 21 and, 22; whose pulley 21 is animated,. of a rotational movement by the chain drive 18.
The conveyor pallet 17 can, for example, be controlled by an arm 23 along fixed rails 5 or the like so that it exits the section of the channel of the press 11, tangentially to the end pulley 21. . @
Instead of one, it is also possible to attach more than one transport pallet to the endless conveyor element 20. The conveyor element 20 can be set to the rate of operation of the press piston and rotate by way con-
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
continues at a uniform speed, but it can also be moved by giving it intermittent acceleration.
An example of a conveyor element moving in alternating motion is given by FIG. 3. In this case, a rake 12 which carries the two transport pallets 15 and 16 is only articulated to a crank 13 at one of its ends, for example that adjacent to the channel of the press 11, while its other free end 24 is guided to the fixed frame of the machine, for example by means of rollers 25 on rails 26 or indeed on shoes or rockers.
One could naturally also fix directly to the rake the third transport pallet 14 adjacent to the free end 24 of the transport rake 12, but, in this case, one would have to be satisfied with a relatively superficial penetration of this pallet 14 into the harvested material. . If this is not desired, that is, if the transport pallet 14 adjacent to the free end 24 of the conveyor rake 12 must also penetrate deeply into the harvested material below it. on the collector table, this can be achieved if, as shown in Fig. 3, a particular rod 27 is adapted to this transport pallet 14.
Its end turned towards the channel side of the press 11 is also guided on the fixed frame of the machine, for example by means of a carriage 28 (Fig. 5) which can roll on the rollers 25 and on which can also be articulated. 'free end 24 of the rake 12. At its middle part, this rod 27 is articulated to the rake 12, for example by means of a linkage with journals and longitudinal slot 29,30, so that the movement of the rake 12 produces a movement control of the rod 27 which, as shown in FIG. 3, produces the desired depth penetration of the transport pallet 14 into the crop material below it on the collecting table 9.
According to the present invention, the tamping device oscillating in one direction and in the other on a circular arc known per se can also be made usable for the introduction of the crop material into a lateral opening of the channel of the press. for introducing the harvested material from above through a loading opening in the casing of the baler channel, so that it passes the harvested material supplied by the cross conveyor close to the side loading opening of the channel of the press, through this opening in the press channel during the part of its working stroke connecting to the horizontal.
Because such a tamper protrudes from the channel in the same approximately horizontal arc of oscillation, along which it enters the press channel through the side loading opening, no slits in the walls of the press channel. neither the press nor any weakening of these walls is necessary, and the tamper oscillating back and forth in an arc of a circle is also of considerably simpler and stronger construction than the tamping fingers or Known or controlled rotary transport pallets on curved paths arranged outside their axis of rotation.
According to the embodiment of FIG. 6, the tamper 117 essential from the point of view of the invention is mounted above the press channel 11 on the fixed frame of the machine by means of a pendulum 119 so that it can enter and exit the channel. of the press through the side loading opening 10, oscillating along the arc of its working stroke approximately horizontally, as can be seen in the drawing.
This oscillating movement of tamper 117 is advantageously controlled by the rake by means of a connecting rod 120 articulated on one side to the rocker 119 and on the other side to the free end of the rake 12 guided on rails 26, so that the tamper 117, during its working stroke, detaches the crop material from the most advanced transport pallet 16 and, by
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
protruding, pushes material through the side loading opening
10 in the channel there press 11.
The instantaneous positions of tamper 117 and transport pallet 16 during this operation result from the entered position figures.
It can be clearly seen that the tamper 117, oscillating for example between two transport rakes arranged one behind the other in the plane of the drawing, joins them immediately before position 4 of the transport pallet 16, and protrudes between them. positions 4 and 5, then greatly ahead of them to positions 6 and 7.
As the pallets 16 move substantially vertically from position 6 to position 7 past the side loading opening 10, tamper 117 still moves substantially horizontally from position 6 to position 7. As a result, the harvested material is strongly compressed by the tamper 117 in the press channel, so that it cannot again disintegrate until the inlet opening when the tamper returns from position 7 at position 6.
Of course, the use of tamper 117 oscillating back and forth to introduce the harvested material into a side loading opening of a straw baler, on a portion of the working stride disposed at the same time. approximately horizontally, not limited to the cooperation with the transverse conveyor shown in the construction example illustrated in FIG. 6, or with carriers., Transverse according to Figs.
1-5, nor for use in bale-collector presses, although this use is preferred in accordance with the invention.
An extension 129 of tamper 117, in the form of an arc of a corresponding length, prevents on the one hand that the harvesting material can penetrate behind the tamper, and on the other hand, that the transport pallets 16 cannot, again carry crop material with them during their rearward stroke from approximately position 7 to position 10, because the pallets 16, on this part of their trajectory, move backwards away from surfaces of the cheeks of the extension 129 in the form of a circled arc of the tamper 117.
Due to the fact that the transport pallets 14, 15, 16 or respectively
17 penetrate from above like pins' into the harvested material below them on the collecting table 9, they grab hard harvested material with long strands, like straw, just as exactly sure only from soft crumbled harvest material, such as clover hay or the like.
Here also, for a corresponding length of the transport pallets 14, 15, 16 or 17 respectively, their efficiency is not influenced by the circumstance that sometimes more, sometimes less of the collected material collects on the table 9. As a result of its mechanical downward movement, the conveyor member 12 or the like advantageously compresses the harvested material lying below it on the collecting table 9, so that it enters the feed channel. press 11 in the compressed state in advance, which increases the production capacity of the machine.
Of course, several conveyor elements 12 or the like can be arranged side by side above the collecting table 9, as shown in FIG. 4. '
In the construction according to Figs. 7,7a, the working surface of tamper 117 forming, for example, pallets in the form of forks 118, can, according to the invention, be folded between two projections 121 and
122 (Fig. 7a) in a horizontal position drawn in phantom in Fig.
7, during the return run, from the more vertical position that it takes during the working run of the tamper. This is achieved if, during the rear stroke of tamper 117, this working surface 118 is re
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
held back by the harvested material behind it and slides over this material as the backstroke continues.
When tamper 117 has returned to its uppermost position (dashed lines in Fig. 7), its work surface 118 is arranged vertically, stinging on its next working stroke in the crop material. te 'lying below it on the collecting table, and is folded -' by it into the regular transport position for which it carries the harvested material when the working stroke continues and the 'pushes it deep into the section. of the press channel 11.
The folding arm 117 of the tamper may consist of a single tube disposed in the middle of the balancer 119 which moves immediately below the upper ridge of the loading opening 10 of the press channel and therefore cannot act on the collected material lying below it during the return stroke.
In the construction according to FIG. 8, tamper 117 moves horizontally in one direction and the other with the carriage guided on rollers 25 on the machine frame 26 to which it is attached. Its working surface 118 can be folded down in the same way as in the construction described above, according to FIG. 7, with the difference that it is mechanically folded from the horizontal position to the vertical working position, at the end of the rear stroke of the tamper 117. This is done by means of a fixed stop 128 of the frame. -the machine against which the working surface 118 abuts via a projection 291. (Fig.
8a). -
Also in the construction according to FIG. 9, the rake 117 is guided on the carriage 28 driven by a reciprocating movement, but it is not rigidly fixed therein, but so as to be able to pivot around the pivot 130. Beyond this pivot, it extends by an arm 31 connected to the carriage 28 by a tension spring 32. At its free end, the arm 31 carries a roller 33 through which, during the return stroke of the tamper 117, it rolls on a needle 34 which the deflects down. In this way, the tamper rises as soon as its work surface 118 has exited the press channel section 11, so that its work surface is moved above the harvested material lying on the table. collector 9.
The needle 34 is calculated so that the extension arm 31 of the tamper 117 protrudes through its roller 33 the end of the needle 34 and can again move upwards under the action of the tension spring. 32. The tamper 117 thus penetrates through its working surface 118 into the material located below it on the collecting table 9, and pushes it into the channel of the press 11 when its working stroke continues.
The needle 34 can pivot on the frame of the machine 26 and is subjected to the action of a tension spring 38 so that, when the extension arm 31 directed towards the top of the tamper 117 ends at this needle during the working stroke of the tamper, she can move away from this arm and straighten up again behind him when he has passed the needle.
A fixed stopper 35 prevents needle 34 from moving upwards.
Instead of being actuated by a spring 32, the tamper 117 may also be erected into its working position behind the needle by the action of a weight.
