RANCHER EN TOLE EMBOUTIE POUR WAGONS PLATS DE CHEMIN DE FER OU
SIMILAIRES,
<EMI ID=1.1>

RANCHER IN PRESSED SHEET FOR FLAT WAGONS OF RAILWAY OR
SIMILAR,
In practice and up to this day, use is made, almost exclusively, of wooden stakes for the stakes which can be dismantled from flat wagons. It has already been proposed to make use of stamped sheet steel stakes or even stakes made of profiled irons such as are commonly known on the market, however these have not been able to be established despite having been it is possible to reinforce the sheet steel stakes compared to the wooden ones. Part of the preference given to wooden stanchions stems from the fact that sheet steel stakes consisted of stamped, cup-shaped sections welded to each other and whose weld lines did not withstand impact.
The invention amounts to stamped sheet stakes and proposes to stamp the stanchion from a piece of sheet metal having a section
<EMI ID = 1.1>
has a stamped rib, oriented towards the inside of the profile. Through
this fact a rancher of great solidity is obtained; Likewise, the flat rectangular shape of the cross section which corresponds to that of the wooden stanchion is particularly advantageous due to its profilo
The moment of resistance of this rancher can be greatly increased by bending the edges of the U-wing inward and particularly by giving these a hook-shaped profile. An essential characteristic of the invention lies in the fact that the die-forging of the rib and the bending in the form of a hook are coordinated with the pro = U-shaped base wire so that the neutral axis of the profile is located in the center of the cross section. In this way it is possible to use both sides of the stanchion in the direction of the load. It is therefore irrelevant whether the face carrying the rib is turned towards the load or towards the outside.
The stanchion is usefully thinned towards the upper end and, in this case, the forging of the rib is carried out so that the latter gradually tapers. One embodiment, given by way of non-limiting example, is shown in the accompanying drawings, in which

.The rancher is formed, in principle, by a Uo profile. In the lower part of the rancher, the wings are parallel, while they tilt, tapering upwards. In the lower part of the stanchion, therefore in the area which is particularly affected by the shocks of the load and which risks being damaged, the web 1 of the U-profile is stamped towards the in- <EMI ID = 4.1>
the latter reaches the outer limit of the wings of the U-profile.
The core forging of the core gradually diminishes towards the upper end of the rancher just as the latter thins out as a whole. Edges
of the wings 2 are curved in the shape of a crocheto By a suitable shape
of the forging and bending of the hook-shaped wings 3, the neutral line N-N of the entire profile is in the plane of its cross-section, at least in the central and lower part which is the most exposed. The execution of the stanchion is carried out by stamping a sheet metal part; there are therefore no weld lines.
The exemplary embodiment represents a removable stanchion planned
for the use of flat cars. It is obvious that the stanchion can be realized as a folding stanchion. In this case the basic shape remains the same.
