The present invention relates to a shelter for parking vehicles and in particular motor vehicles, consisting of a cover placed on side members resting on at least two supporting structure elements.
Shelters of this kind are known, in which each element of the supporting structure is constituted by a pillar fixed to a base sealed to the ground, and by a beam mounted at the upper end of this pillar, the spars arranged on the beams of adjacent elements, transversely to the latter, carrying the cover.
The advantage of such shelters is that their footprint is reduced due to the presence of a single pillar.
On the other hand, this type of construction does not withstand significant loads applied to the roofing, and in particular the weight of the snow in the event of snow. Indeed, under these conditions,
The assembly of the beam on the pillar of each element of the supporting structure is particularly stressed, and it frequently happens that this assembly gives way under the load.
The object of the invention is to remedy this drawback while maintaining a reduced footprint on the ground.
The shelter according to the invention is characterized in that the elements of the supporting structure each comprise two crisscross brackets and fixed to one another at their point of intersection.
The appended drawing represents, schematically and by way of example, an embodiment of a shelter for parking vehicles according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a side elevational view of a conventional shelter, and
fig. 2 is a similar view of a shelter according to the invention.
The usual shelter shown in FIG. 1 comprises two elements 1 of the supporting structure, only one of which is visible in the drawing. Each of these elements 1 comprises a pillar 2 made integral with a base 3 sealed to the ground 4, and a beam 5 which is fixed to the upper end of the pillar 2. The latter is oblique with respect to the vertical and the beam 5 is inclined relative to the horizontal. Side members 6 are arranged transversely to the beams 5 and rest by their ends on the latter.
A cover 7 made of plastic or corrugated iron rests on these side members. The corrugations of the cover are oriented from one beam 5 to the other to ensure the flow of water parallel to the beams 5, from right to left in FIG. 1.
The shelter for parking vehicles which is the subject of the invention, illustrated in FIG. 2, comprises two elements 1 of the supporting structure, each consisting of two brackets 8 intersecting and fixed to one another at their point of intersection 9. Each bracket comprises a post 10 connected by an intermediate section 13 to an arm 11, the crossing point 9 being at the height of the intermediate sections 13.
The two posts 10 are provided with a sole 12 intended to be made integral with a base 3 anchored in the ground 4.
The upper faces of the arms 11 of the two brackets 8 are located in the same plane, inclined relative to the horizontal, and support the ends of the side members 6 arranged transversely to the arms 11.
A cover 7 made of plastic or corrugated iron rests on these side members. The corrugations of the cover are oriented from one element 1 of the supporting structure towards the other to ensure the flow of water parallel to the arms 11 of the brackets 8, from right to left in FIG. 2.
Preferably, the brackets 8 are formed of metal profiles of U-shaped cross section, and the assembly of the arm 11 and the post 10 to the intermediate section 13 is carried out by welding.
The connection of the two brackets 8 of the same element 1 of the supporting structure between them at their point of intersection 9 is ensured by a tie rod 14 clamping the two intermediate sections one
on the other.
The shelter according to the invention has improved resistance to the tares applied to the cover. Its footprint
st low, the two posts 10 of the brackets 8 of the same element ie the supporting structure being brought together so as to form together a pillar, substantially equidistant from the ends of the opening 7.
Many variations of the shelter can be provided for trimming vehicles that are the subject of the invention, and in particular in the choice of the profiles constituting the brackets 8.
The two brackets 8 can be assembled at their point of intersection 9 using several tie rods or by welding. However, it is preferable to leave the brackets 8 the possibility of pivoting between themselves at their point of intersection 9, in order to avoid stress concentrations at this point.
