<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
La fig. 1 est une coupe verticale de l'ustensile dans la position de descente au fond de l'eau ;
La fige 2 est un plan-coupe suivant la ligne II-II de la fige 1 ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

"Utensil for angling"
The present invention relates to an angling utensil that can be used for two purposes, namely to deposit bait in a chosen location determined with precision and also to serve as a probe in order to find the depth of the water. water in this place.
The utensil of the invention consists of a cylindrical body having at its upper part a sealed chamber traversed along its longitudinal axis by a bent tube and, at its lower part, a chamber resting freely on a lead base, this chamber
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
capable of receiving a bait to be deposited in a specific location.
The wire of the line secured under the lead base rises along the longitudinal axis of the utensil passing through the bent tube which is immobilized as long as the wire is stretched, but which can slide on this wire as soon as the wire is released.
The invention relates to other characteristics which will become apparent in the description which follows.
An embodiment of the object of the invention is shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing.
Fig. 1 is a vertical section of the utensil in the descent position at the bottom of the water;
Fig 2 is a sectional plane along line II-II of fig 1;
Fig 3 is a view similar to. Fig. 1, showing the action of the device when it reaches the bottom of the water.
The utensil is essentially made up of a cylinder 1, preferably in light metal, such as aluminum, closed at the top by a bottom 2.
A partition 3 is placed at. inside the cylinder and is held, for example against a constriction 4 of this cylinder, by means of tabs 5 cut in the wall of the cylinder and arched under the partition 3.
A tube 6 forming a pronounced bend 7 is placed substantially in the axis of the cylinder 1 between its bottom 2 and the partition 3, the ends 8 and 9 of this tube being respectively crimped against this partition and this base.
At the bottom, the cylinder is closed by a lead base 10 on which the edge 11, for example
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
rolled, of the cylinder, rests freely. The base 10 cohorts a recess 12, at the bottom of which the wire 13 of the line is stopped, for example by a knot 14. The wire of the line rises through the cylinder 1, passes through the bent tube 6 and extends in 13 'to the tip of the tip.
The base 10 is pierced with holes 15., 16, 17, 18.
When the device is used to deposit a bait, for example cooked grain, at a specific location in a river or a body of water, the bait 19 is placed in the chamber 20 provided in the cylinder 1. between the . lead base 10 and bulkhead 3. As long as the utensil is suspended from line 13 before entering the water, the cylinder
1 remains applied to the base 10 by its gravity alone, so that the bait 19 remains trapped therein. When the utensil descends into the water, as long as it has not reached the bottom, the lead 10 keeps the line 13 taut, so that it exerts, in the bent tube 7, a braking which prevents cylinder 1 from rising.
When the lead base 10 has reached the bottom and rests on the ground, the line 13 is no longer stretched, so that the float formed by the sealed chamber 21 formed in the cylinder 1 between its upper base 2 and the partition 3 tends to rise to the surface of the water by driving the entire cylinder 1, the relaxed line no longer exerts noticeable braking on the bent tube 7, so that the cylinder rises leaving the bait 19 escape on the sides as shown in fig. 3. This bait is thus placed exactly at the place chosen by the sinner.
By letting cylinder 1 rise to the surface, lead 10 also serves as a probe to accurately determine the depth of the water at the location in question.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
Various modifications can be made to the exemplary embodiment shown. In particular, the shape given to the braking tube 6 can vary, the essential being that the curve or curves that this tube presents ensure the effective blocking of the line 13 during the descent of the assembly to the bottom of the water, as long as this line is stretched, and on the contrary allow cylinder 1 to rise when the line is relaxed.
The sealed chamber 21 could be produced in a different way, for example by constituting it in the form of a separate part possibly comprising the tube 6 and connected to a skirt 1 constituting the bait tank.
The example shown is, however, particularly easy to manufacture, since it suffices to place the partition 3 in the tube 1, then to stamp small parts 5 under this partition to maintain it and at the same time to practice. in the wall 1, below the partition, holes serving to escape the air contained in the chamber 20.
It is obvious that the base 10 also forming a probe could receive any other desired conformation and that the holes 15 to 18 could be replaced by equivalent means, for example by projections provided on this base at the places where the base 11 of the cylinder bears, thus leaving a peripheral gap between this foot and the lead for the entry of water.
Although the body of the utensil is advantageously made of aluminum, it is obvious that any other material can be used in its manufacture.
It is obviously possible, where appropriate, to resort to other modes and other embodiments, without departing from the scope of this invention.
