<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

PATENT OF INVENTION Hans HOSER

"Process and machine for the manufacture of agglomerates" ..
The present invention relates to a process for manufacturing agglomerates in a mold in which the side walls of the mold are vertically moved away from the bottom of the latter by means of which the agglomerate is retained by means of 'a piston which compresses it in the mold during its vibration.
Dahs the known methods, the demolding is carried out only when the vibrations of the chipboard have ceased. In order to reduce the production time of an agglomerate, according to the invention, the agglomerate is demolded before ceasing to vibrate.
This saves the time during which the vlbrater goes from normal operation to standstill and the vibrations are applied during the period when the chipboard is subjected to the maximum pressure which results not only from the pressure due. to the previous lowering of the piston, but also from the additional pressure due to the friction caused by the lifting of the side walls of the mold. These latter vibrations are therefore exerted at a time when they are particularly useful. In addition, it is possible to manufacture the chipboard by a simpler machine by successively controlling the compression and the release from a common engine.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
In order to more reliably prevent the chipboard from deteriorating during this last phase of its manufacture, according to the invention, the vibrations are carried out vertically during the demolding. In practice, the vibrations are exerted vertically both before and during demolding.
The present invention also has as an object a machine suitable for carrying out the process according to the invention.
There are known machines comprising a mold with a side wall movable vertically relative to the bottom in order to cause demoulding by means of a piston which presses on the upper surface of the chipboard after having compressed the latter during the vibration of the latter.
In machines of this type, the vibrations are exerted horizontally, either by being applied to the mold, or by being exerted directly within the chipboard, for example, by means of an eccentric class rotating around an axis. substantially vertical.
The machine according to the invention oomprent a vibrator mounted so as to cause vertical vibrations of the material.
According to an advantageous embodiment, the aforesaid vibrator is suspended from the horizontal pivots carried by the mold,
In order to avoid any loss of time between the main maneuvers carried out to manufacture a chipboard in a machine of this type, provision has also been made that in the machine according to the invention, the mechanism which actuates the piston and that which actuates the walls of the mold are controlled from a common motor, being placed under the dependence of one another, so that the lowering and the raising of the piston as well as the removal and bring him closer-
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
ment of the side walls of the bottom of the mold are carried out at the desired times.
In particular, in the machine according to the invention, the compressor piston is integral with a support which can slide vertically, in a manner known per se, but whose is limited by a stop of the frame, the said sliding support in the lower position. connected to vertically guided rods used for the suspension of the side walls of the mold which can come to rest on the bottom of the latter, by a mechanical connection such that when the support abuts on the frame at the end of its downward stroke, it causes the walls of the mold to rise and that when these walls meet the bottom of the mold at the end of their downward movement,
it causes the piston to rise
Other features and details of the invention will become apparent from the description of the drawings appended hereto which schematically show, and by way of example only, one embodiment of a machine according to the invention.
Figure 1 is a side view of a machine according to the invention.
Figure 8 is an elevational view along arrow X of Figure 1.
In these different figures, the same reference notations designate identical elements.
The machine shown comprises a mold, the side walls 2 of which are movable vertically. In the position shown, these walls rest on the bottom of a mold consisting of a board 3.
These side walls are integral with horizontal pivots 4 from which is freely suspended a stirrup 5 carrying a vibrator 6. The latter is, for example, of the rotary unbalance type. ¯
The horizontal pivots'4 are engaged in 7 rods
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
guided vertically in bearings 8 of a frame 9. The vibrations that the vibrator 6 can communicate to the mold are therefore exclusively vertical.
The machine shown further comprises a piston 10 integral with a support 11 guided vertically relative to the frame thanks to sleeves 12 sliding on the rods 7.
This support 11 carries a motor 13 which, by means of a speed reducer 14, rotates a pinion 15 rewinding with a toothed wheel 16 wedged on the shaft 17 of two cranks 18 arranged on either side. other of frame 9.
Each of these cranks is connected to a connecting rod 19 connected on the other hand to one of the rods 7 from which the side walls of the mold are suspended.
The lower position of the sliding support 11 and of the piston 10 which is integral with it is determined by the meeting of this support with a stop of the frame formed by cross members 20. This position corresponds to the maximum lowering.
10 with the piston / in the mold.
L The bottom 3 of the mold rests on shock-absorbing elements 21 which are supported by a table 22. The latter is carried by levers 23 pivoting at 24 relative to the frame 9 and carrying rollers 25 which press against the sliding rails 7.
Suppose that the side walls of the mold are lowered to the bottom as shown in the drawings and this mold is filled with material to be agglomerated. Suppose further that the piston is outside the mold in its highest position. This position is shown schematically in phantom lines in FIG. 1, where the position occupied by the cranks 18 and the connecting rods 19 has been shown at the same time. This position / occupied when the lateral walls 2 of the mold rest on the bottom 3 of oelui-oi.
If we assume that the motor 13 turns the cranks 18 in the direction of the arrow Y, this rotation has as
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
effect of lowering the support 11 and the piston 10 with the consequence that the material is compressed while it is subjected to the vertical vibrations caused by the vibrator 6.
When the support 11 meets the crosspiece 20, the piston stops descending but immediately the side walls 2 of the mold begin to rise, It is in this position that the elements are shown in Figures 1 and 2.
The lifting of the side walls from this moment is due to the fact that the mechanical connections existing between the piston 10 and these side walls place these elements in dependence on one another when they are actuated by the common motor 13 .
If the cranks 18 continue to rotate in the direction of the arrow Y from the position shown in Figure 1, the vertically sliding rods 7 are driven upward to the position shown in phantom in this figure. This lifting of the rods 7 causes the release of the chipboard since the piston continues to press on the upper face of the latter.
making this demolding, or at least at the beginning thereof, the vibrator 6 can continue to exert its effects on the agglomerate
This lifting of the mold takes place until the cranks 18 occupy a position in the extension of the connecting rods, the pivot of articulation of which to the rods 7 has come to occupy a position such as that shown in broken lines *
At the end of the upward movement of the rods 7, a portion of smaller diameter 7 ', comes opposite the rollers 25.
Therefore, the levers 23 can rotate slightly in the direction of the arrows Z, which causes a lowering of the table 22, the bottom 3 of the mold and the chipboard This lowering is such that the bottom of the mold comes to rest on rollers 26 carried by the frame and which form part of a track
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
facilitating the release of the chipboard from the machine.
, After removing the bottom 3 and the chipboard, a new bottom is placed above table 22.
When the sliding rods 7 begin to descend as a result of an additional rotation of the cranks 18 in the direction of the arrow Y, the rollers 25 are pushed back into the position shown, which brings the table 22 and the bottom 3 back to the position of molding. The sidewalls of the mold continue to descend until they meet the bottom 3. After this encounter, the rotation of the jaws 18 causes the support 11 and the piston 10 to rise until they occupy a position such as that shown in phantom in FIG. 1. when the piston is raised, the mold can be filled.
This can be done, for example, in. bringing above it a tank 27 which can shuttle between a hopper 28 and the mold, possibly by rolling on a raceway carried by the frame. Tray 27 can be automatically returned to the position where. it is represented under the action of a counterweight 29 suspended from a cable 30 passing over return pulleys 31, 32 and 33. Optionally, the movement of the tank 24 can be controlled automatically by the machine.
It is possible, for example, to provide a block between the movable support 11 and the frame 9, over which passes a cable 34 terminating in the tank 27.
It is obvious that the invention is not exclusively limited to the embodiment shown and that many modifications can be made in the form, the arrangement and the constitution of some of the elements involved in its realization, without departing from the scope of this patent, provided that such modifications do not contradict the subject matter of each of the claims
