<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

<Desc/Clms Page number 9>
<Desc/Clms Page number 10>
<Desc/Clms Page number 11>

Referring first to Figures 1 to 7, it can be seen that the bottom wall 1 'of the funnel 1 of the machine, constructed to operate in the manner described in the main patent, is suspended from after the pr3sente addition, at its rear end to two connecting rods, 2, of short length connected at their upper ends so as to be able to pivot relative to the side walls 1 "of the funnel.
The piston used with said funnel is mounted on the bottom 1 'thereof, in such a way that it can, on the one hand, move, when necessary, with this wall the and that, on the other hand hand, it can slide along the upper surface of said bottom. The piston, which has a width slightly smaller than that of the funnel 1, consists of a main part 3 and by a head 4 connected to the main part 3, so that, if necessary, it can tilt and adapt automatically to the various densities of the different parts of the chipboard in the opposite mold, whereby uniform compression of the material placed in the mold can always be obtained. end of the filling operation thereof,
that is, all parts of the chipboard in the mold can in this way be brought to a substantially equal and uniform density. Devices for removing bricks, tiles, etc ... formed in the machine are modified as follows:
every second roller of the series located below the part of the machine in which the bricks, tiles, etc ... are received on the plates 25, for example the odd rollers, the first, third, fifth and seventh 271, 273,275, 277 forming part of the series of seven rollers used in the case where each plate is to receive three bricks, tiles, etc ..... instead of being mounted at their ends in practical ordinary bearings in the longitudinal beams in which they are supported like the other three rollers of this series of seven, are mounted at their ends in vertical slots 28 formed in the longitudinal beams and are supported by upper ends of short connecting rods 29,
connected at their other ends, that is to say the lower ends, to levers 301, 303, 305, 307. These levers are supported between their ends by supports 31 fixed to the longitudinal beams and are provided at their free ends with weights 321, 323, 325, 327, These weights have progressively increasing values, the weight 321 mounted at the end of the first lever 301 being such that it performs, when it is free to act, a preliminary lifting. of the wafer before the front of this wafer is brought into the position in which it is lifted to receive the first of the three bricks, tunes, etc ...... which must be placed on said wafer.
It thus ensures absolute freedom of movement of the plate during the lifting of the latter which takes place afterwards.
<Desc / Clms Page number 9>
Weight 323 mounted at the end of the second lever
303 is such that it lifts, when free to act, the wafer by bringing it against the lower end of the brick or tile at the moment when the side walls of the mold, containing the brick, are lifted to allow
8 this to be deposited on the wafer.
The weight 325 mounted at the end of the third lever 305 is such that, when it is free to act, it lifts the wafer and the brick previously deposited on the wafer, bringing it into contact. with the lower end of the second brick.
Finally, the weight 327 mounted the extract of the fourth and last lever 507 is such that it lifts, in turn, the plate carrying the two bricks which were placed on it previously, bringing them into contact with the end. bottom of the third brick.
These weight levers act in combination with a frame 33 which, at the desired times, for example before the plate is pushed forward by the ratchet mechanism which it actuates, is lifted in such a way that it comes to rest against the weights. said levers by allowing the upper surfaces of rollers 271, 273, 275, 277, mounted in the vertical slots 23 formed in the longitudinal beams of the lower part of the frame of the machine and connected so,) to be actuated by said levers , to lower, so as to be at the level of the three other rollers of the raceway of the platelets and at the level of the other pallets of the raceway.
This allows the inserts to be pushed forward toward the output end of the machine by pushing the insert (s) in front of them.
<Desc / Clms Page number 10>
The progressive increase of the weights 321, 323, 325, 327, which weights may have the form of rollers of the same diameter at their ends in order to be able to act in combination with the frame 33, can be obtained in the manner shown in FIG. 9, that is, the first weight or the first roller 321 may have a reduced diameter over a considerable part of its length between its ends. Ae second weight or second roller'333 can be provided, at its center, with a part of smaller diameter and the length of which is less than the part of small diameter of the first roller. The third roller 325 may also be provided with a reduced diaveter, disposed in its central part, the length of which is even shorter than that of the second roller.
Finally, the fourth weight or the fourth roller 327 may have a uniform diameter over its entire length.
The pads 5 are pushed towards the output end of the machine by means of two pawls, 34 & 35.
These pawls are intended to come successively into engagement with each of the spaced projections located on the lower surfaces of the pads, by means of a disc provided with two cranks placed at different distances from the axis of rotation. One of these pawls, 34, coming first in contact with a projection of a pad, is connected to the shorter crankpin and moves a shorter distance, while the other pawl, 35, is connected to the second crank pin and thus moves over a longer length than the pawl 24. It grasps the plate first set in motion
<Desc / Clms Page number 11>
by the pawl 34 and ends its movement at a higher speed.
By virtue of this two-pawl device operating in the manner described, the shock suffered at the start of movement by the plate is reduced to a minimum, thereby making it possible to increase the throughput of the machine. The pawls 34 & 35 are mounted so as to be able to pivot around the upper ends of the levers 36 & 37 moved forward and backward by means of the rods 38 & 39 respectively connected.

weights 321, 323, 325, 327 mounted at the ends of levers 301, 303,305, $ 307.
We see at 50 the springs connected to the pawls 34 & 35 and to the pivoting levers 36 & 37, with the help of which. the pawls 34 & 35 receive the rotational movement which brings them into positions determined by stops 51.
From this hole, the ends or contact pieces 43 of the front ends of the pawls 34 & 35 are brought into positions in which they engage with protrusions formed on the lower surfaces of the pads.
52 shows a plate supported by the longitudinal beams and acting in combination with rollers 53 mounted at the rear ends of the pawls 34 & 35 and acting so that the ends or the contact parts 43 of these pawls remain in contact with the projections of the lower surfaces of the inserts, during the time when the inserts are to be pushed forward towards the exit end of the machine.
If desired, the same displacements as described above, i.e. a relatively slow initial initial movement and a higher speed displacement can be given to the pads by means of a single pawl.
In this case, as can be seen in Figures 14 & 15, the pawl indicated at 54 will preferably have the same construction as the pawls which have just been described, i.e. it will be formed by an end or a contact piece 53 controlled by a spring formed by
<Desc / Clms Page number 13>
a separate piece from the rest of the pawl, this contact piece being mounted so as to pivot about the upper end of the pivot lever 56, which can be actuated by a cam-shaped surface formed on the periphery of a disc 57,
the device being completed by a disc
58 mounted on the pivoting lever and pressed constantly against said cam by means of an extension spring 59. The shape given to the periphery of the disc will be such that the stake first moves slowly, this speed increasing only gradually. The shaft 60 which carries the disc 57 may be driven by any suitable mechanism from the general drive shaft of the machine.
It is possible, for example, to use a second shaft 61, chain wheels 62 & 63 respectively mounted on the shafts 60 & 61 and a chain 64 passing over the two wheels.
