PATENT OF INVENTION Thorvald, Bollerup Jensen and Gustav Federik Honnens from Lichten- --berge

rresse-puroe.
The present invention relates to a fruit and vegetable potato masher, provided with a wing-shaped plate, part of a helical surface with decreasing inclination, and which rotates against the bottom of a suitable conical sieve, in order to chop the material to be pureed, and squeeze it through the bottom of the sieve.
In such potato masher, the bottom of the sieve is often clogged during operation because the finished material sticks to that bottom from below and does not come off, but must be scraped off with a spoon or similar utensil. This drawback is completely eliminated by the potato masher constructed in accordance with the present invention, and the characteristic feature of which is that the rotating axis of the wing-shaped plate carries a resilient arm which is shaped and, placed in the same way. such that with each rotation it will sweep the lower side of the. bottom of the sieve and thereby remove the mashed material therefrom.
A constructive embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing where fig.l shows a top view of the potato masher and fig. 2 shows a side view of part of this potato masher.
In the model shown, the potato masher consists of a cylindrical container 1 fitted with a conical sieve bottom 2.
A crank pin 4 b is passed through a hole in the bottom of the screen. Attached to this axis is a wing 6 of a special shape consisting of a plate which forms part of a helical surface with decreasing inclination and which has a short leading edge 7 and a long trailing edge 8, which fits all the way. against the screen surface and which, like the leading edge, extends almost radially from the axis.
Between the front and rear edges, the shape of the plate outwardly is a regular curve The distance between the plate and the conical screen decreases from the front edge to the rear edge, and when the crank is rotated, the material is pressed through the sieve in the usual way At the end of the trailing edge 8 the wing is provided with a vertical rod which serves, also in the usual way, to push the roughly finished material or which is only partially finished, from the edges of the container when it is forced out by the rotary movement.
Above the bottom of the screen, through which the axis passes to end with a stud 9, with a nut 11, there is fixed on the axis an elastic arm 12 which ends in a curved part 13 and which at each rotation completely sweeps the underside of the bottom. from the sieve, so that the pulp is removed by scraping.

In addition, the potato masher has a handle 14 and two protrusions 15 by means of which it can be moved or held in place on the container on which it is placed when in use.
CLAIMS.
1. A potato masher for annealing mashed fruits and vegetables, characterized by a wing consisting of a plate which is part of a helical surface with decreasing inclination, and which by turning chops the material which is to be mashed, and presses them through the bottom of the potato masher screen.
