Electric light generator housed in the hub of a bicycle or similar machine.
The present invention relates to an electric lighting generator which can be housed inside the hub of a bicycle or similar machine and controlled by means of an intermediate gear. Generators of such a construction are already known.
The characteristic of the present invention lies in the fact that the axis of the rotor of the generator is disposed at an acute or obtuse angle with respect to the axis of the hub. As a result of this arrangement, it is possible to reduce the dimensions of the generator to a minimum, respectively to use the available space to the last limit.
The accompanying drawing shows by way of example an embodiment according to the invention: fig.l shows, in longitudinal section, the generatrix

housed in a hub, fig.2 is a section of fig.l along x-y, fig.3 is a side view of the generator, fig. 4 shows, in section, the intermediate gear and fig.5 the rotor with the poles of the electric field.
The hub 1 is interrupted by a housing 2, open or closed at will. In the embodiment according to the drawing, the housing is divided into two parts, carrying on each side the hub sections or the journals 1. In this housing is mounted the shaft 7 with the rotor 6 as well as the shaft 3 of the intermediate gear. This shaft 3 carries on one side a straight toothed wheel 5, in engagement with the rotor shaft and on the other side a bevel wheel 4, in engagement with the crown 11a of a bevel wheel 11.
The latter rotates in the hub cap, being driven by the split spring ring 12. This ring can be spaced apart as a result of the movement of a lever 14 carrying a cam 13; in this way, the ring 11 is relaxed, thus causing the generator to disengage. The hub 16 is mounted on ball bearings 15.
The shaft 7 is suspended in bearings 8 at an obtuse or acute angle with respect to the axis of the hub, thus ensuring an inclined position for the generator system comprising the rotor 6 and the fixed poles 10 with winding 18 (see fig.l ). This special arrangement allows the diameter of the generator to be reduced appreciably, which allows the space available to be used to the last limit.
As emerges from fig.l and 4, the axis of the rotor 7 and that of the intermediate gear intersect the axis of the hub located in their plane. The centers of gravity of the rotor 6 and the pinion gear 5 are located exactly or at least approximately in the axis of the body of the hub 16.
The derivation of the current from the generator is obtained by an electrical pipe arranged in one of the two journals and a current socket 17, fixed thereon.
