<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
La figure 1 est une coupe longitudinale et schémati- que d'un premier mode de réalisation;
La figure 2 est une vue de profil schématique du mode de réalisation de la figure 1;
La figure représente une coupe schématique d'un deuxième mode de réalisation;
La figure 4 est une vue de profil schématique du mode de réalisation de la figure 3;
Cetexcentrique @
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

Machine for shelling flax and hemp stalks.
The present invention relates to a gin for flax and hemp stems in which ginning takes place with the aid of working tools, in the form of combs and guided perpendicularly to the direction of advance of the stems.
In gins of this type, the working tools, that is to say the combs, are fixed either on rotating drums or on endless chains.
In rotary drum machines, the angular position of the teeth of the combs varies constantly with respect to itself and also with respect to the material to be worked during the rotation of the drums. As a result, the efficiency of the action of the combs on the rod material varies.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
constantly during labor. The aforementioned drawbacks of rotary drum machines are alleviated in machines provided with endless chains carrying the combs because, in this case, there is a displacement of the combs similar to themselves. It is true that this parallel movement can only take place when the chains have completely completed the reversal of their movement.
Before this precise moment, the combs modify, in these known machines, their angular position with respect to themselves and, consequently, with respect to the material in the rods. Since this zone (of change of angular position) is found just at the beginning of the operations, the disadvantage referred to above is still noticeably manifested.
In accordance with a proposal which has not been realized, the combs are guided parallel to themselves following a circular path, an arrangement thanks to which a regular action of the combs on the rod material is obtained at the same time as, finds the construction of -The reduced. Machine. The displacement of the combs parallel to themselves is obtained, in accordance with the previous proposal, by means of a planetary mechanism. The use of such a planetary mechanism gives rise to construction difficulties which are mainly due to the use of a large number of toothed wheels.
The object of the present invention is an improvement brought to the prior machines as well as to the aforementioned proposed arrangement, which improvement resides in the fact that the combs are mounted in guided bearings following a circular movement, which combs are provided with cranks themselves guided in the same direction and at the same speed as the bearings of the combs by an equally circular guide path offset, with respect to the axis of the circle @

bearings, in a quantity corresponding to the eccentricity of the cranks. In this way, the advantage resulting from the displacement of the combs parallel to themselves is retained while enjoying another advantage resulting from a simple and robust construction.
The cranks of the combs are advantageously mounted so as to be able to rotate in a disc which can itself rotate around a fixed eccentric of the axis of the bearing-holder disc. This embodiment is of a particularly simple and inexpensive construction.
So that one can modify the angular position of the combs with respect to the material to be worked according to the differences of the. rod material in particular according to the height of these rods, the eccentric provided for the disc of the crank pins can, according to the invention, be angularly adjusted relative to the axis of the bearing disc.
In the attached drawing, two embodiments of the invention are shown by way of example.
Figure 1 is a longitudinal and schematic section of a first embodiment;
Figure 2 is a schematic side view of the embodiment of Figure 1;
The figure shows a schematic section of a second embodiment;
Figure 4 is a schematic side view of the embodiment of Figure 3;
FIG. 5 diagrammatically represents the control of the device of FIGS. 3 and 4.
In the embodiment shown in Figures 1 and 2, 1. 'shaft 1 is driven by toothed wheel 4.' arbr rotates in bearings 2 and 3 fixed to the frame of the machine.
On the shaft 1 are wedged two discs 5. Between the shaft 1 and the bearing 3 there is also an eccentric 11. This eccentric @
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
can rotate concentrically with respect to the shaft 1 and the bearing 3. On the aforementioned eccentric can move a disc 10. The eccentric 11 can be locked in different positions using screws in the bearing 5 whereby The axis of the disc 10 can be modified with respect to the axis of the shaft 1. On the disc 10 are articulated three cranks 6 fixed to the supports 8 of the combs 9 and able to rotate in a disc 5.
At the other end of the supports 8, journals 7 are provided which can rotate in the other disc 5. When the discs: 5 participate in the rotation of the shaft 1, the three cranks 6 drive the disc 10. De in this way, the teeth of the combs 9, during the rotation of the machine, retain their angular position in space. The angular displacement of the teeth of the combs 9 is shown in FIG. 2, in which figure has been designated by x the angle by which the eccentric 11 can be displaced relative to the shaft 1.
In the embodiment shown in Figures b to 5, the axis 1 rests, by means of squares oa in supports 2 and 3. This shaft cannot therefore rotate. on the shaft 1 is mounted the eccentric 11 which cannot rotate either. The two discs 5 can rotate in a coaxial manner with respect to the shaft 1 while the disc 10 rotates in a coaxial manner with respect to the eccentric 11. The three discs are driven from toothed wheels 13, 14 and 15 wedged on a countershaft 12 (see Figures 4 and 5). The comb holders 8 and the teeth of the combs 9 are mounted so as to be able to pivot in the discs 5. The comb holders 8 have crank pins 6 which can rotate in the disc 10. In this way, the comb teeth 9 are guided parallel to themselves while turning.
To modify the angular position of the teeth by -

combs 9 in space, i.e. relative to the rod material., the intermediate gear 13 is used, which can be rotated on the shaft 12 relative to the wheels 14 and 15 to the using a clapper coupling 16 - 17.
