Jean HURIAUX ------------ Multi-use water heater.
The present invention relates to a water heater that can adapt equally to bathtubs, water tubs, washing machines and other devices where it is necessary to have hot water.
The object of the invention is a multiple-use water heater, formed of two distinct superimposed parts, one above fixed constituting the boiler, the other movable forming a combustion chamber, the assembly applied directly to the container which is desired. heat the liquid contained therein, wall to wall, without the use of communication piping.
The heating chamber representing the boiler is cast in two pieces of aluminum assembled by screws and forming a water chamber sealed by metallic mastic joints.
The boiler has at least two holes for the circulation of water by thermosiphon as well as a perforated bracket for the vertical passage of a bolt serving as a pivot for the combustion chamber.
In the accompanying drawing are shown, by way of example, two embodiments of the present invention.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Fig. 1 shows a portion in elevation and a portion in section of a fireplace according to the present invention.
Fig. 2 shows a sectional view of a gas fireplace.
According to an embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the water heater intended to be applied to the tub of a washing machine, a bathtub or other container, consists of two distinct parts, one the boiler and fixed, the other the hearth and mobile.
This fixed part for heating the water is preferably cast in aluminum and comprises an external part and another internal part B assembled by screws 1 or the like, to form a water chamber made watertight by gaskets made of metallic mastic, and communicating with the tub of the washing machine, the bath, etc.
The outer part A carries a projection 2 with a flat wall, comprising two openings 3-4, one for the entry of cold water and the other for the exit of hot water; two openings 5 and 6 lining with those indicated by 3-4 are provided in order to allow the adaptation of the hearth to any machine; holes not used in an application are closed with a plug.
Part A carries a perforated lug 7 corresponding to a lug 8 of the combustion chamber C; these legs are joined by a bolt and nut 9 so as to allow the pivoting of the chamber C. The chamber C cast in cast iron carries internally a groove 10 for the installation of a grid 11, while at its base are provided two grooves 12-121 for fixing an ashtray.
For the coal charge, the chamber C is rotated around the pivot or bolt 9. The flames and the hot gases lick the internal wall of the part B and bring the water rapidly to the boil, while the smoke is released. through port 13.

When the fireplace is not burning in the open air, a nozzle can be placed on orifice 13 directing the gases outwards, so as to prevent carbon dioxide from escaping into the room.
Heating does not have to be done with coal, but can be done with any suitable fuel and even with electricity.
In fig. 2, it is shown, a gas heater; in this case, the chamber C is replaced by the gas torch 14 which is also provided to pivot around the bolt 9.
The water circulation from the heating chamber to the tank, bathtub or the like is done by thermo-siphon which does not require a pump, which is the cause of trouble.
The invention has been described and illustrated purely as an indication and in no way limiting, and it goes without saying that numerous modifications can be made to its details, without departing from its spirit.
