<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Dans le dispositif de reprises représenté à la Fig. 2 , le générateur de carburation primaire est composé d'un éoron 13 portant des orifices d'entrée d'air 14, de l'émulseur 10 , d'une pièce 15 comportant une chambre 16 à la partie inférieure de laquelle est fixé le gicleur 7 et supportant à sa partie supérieure le tube 9 mettant en communication le gicleur 7 et l'émalseur 10 , et d'un tube 17 qui réunit l'éorou 13 et la pièce 15 ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

EEREEOTIONNBNEN'BS TO CABBDRA'EECBS-ELEVATBDBS
The object of the present invention is to improve the idling and pick-up devices in carburettor-fuel elevators, the constant level of which is subjected to two differential depressions.
One of the peculiarities of the invention consists in the fact that the idling device and the pick-up device are closely combined and integral with one another, or that the pick-up is supplied by a reserve of fuel contained in a chamber arranged around the violator
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
or near the carburetor diffuser, or a pump body filled with fuel projects the latter mechanically; in the diffuser at the time of recovery.
This invention is applied herein to a differential vacuum carburetor the constant level of which is separated from the barrel body. rator, but can optionally be applied to any differential carburetor whose constant level is integral with the body of the carburetor.
When the recovery is ensured by a fuel reserve arranged around the nozzle, this reserve is constituted by a chamber surrounding the primary carburetion generator and communicating, on the one hand to its lower part with the gioleur, on the other hand to its part. higher with the free surface above the constant level, so that fuel accumulates in this chamber during idling, and is expelled into the primary venturi when restarting.
When the recovery is ensured by a fuel reserve placed near the diffuser, this reserve is constituted by a chamber arranged on the idling fuel supply line, the said chamber comprising two outlets: one consisting of the nozzle. idle speed, the other, fitted with a valve, consisting of a venturi tube opening into the diffuser of the secondary carburetor, so that this capacity, once filled with fuel by the suction of the idling channel, can, during once again, suddenly empty into the diffuser of the secondary carburetor under Inaction of the venturi.
When the pick-up is ensured by means of an acceleration pump, the idling giolator which is placed at the bottom of the pump body has the triple effect: 1) to prime the pump; 2) supply the engine with power while idling; 3) to allow the calibrated flow of the contents of the pump when the adjustment valve is opened.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
On the other hand, the automatic intake regulator provided at the inlet of the diffuser of the differential carburettors has been improved by the fact that the tight connection between the control piston and its cylinder has been produced by means of a flexible material unwinding on it. even during the opening and closing movements of the shutter, so that the location of the unwinding points is formed by a cylinder whose diameter is the average between the diameters of the piston and of the cylinder.
Finally, a filter placed on the constant level cover and forming part of the latter makes it possible both to prevent impurities from entering the constant level, and to make the fuel needle very accessible.
The accompanying drawings show by way of example an embodiment of the improvements which are the subject of the present invention. tion,
Fig.I is a vertical sectional view of the primary carburizing block.
Fig. 2 is a vertical section of the primary carburetion generator fitted with its recovery chamber.
Fig. 3 is a vertical section of the secondary carburizing unit showing the details: a) of an embodiment of the fuel reserve situated near the diffuser; b) the intake regulator ,.
Fig, 4 is a partial vertical section of the secondary block showing the detail of the acceleration pump.
As shown in Fig. I, the primary block comprises a constant level consisting of a tank 1 in which there is a float 2 which controlled a needle 3 by pivoting the lever 4 around the axis 5. In the chamber. 6, the primary carburizing device is
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
consisting of a nozzle 7 screwed into the nozzle holder 8 which is surmounted by a tube 9. On the nozzle holder 8 is fitted the foam concentrate 10, the hexagonal end of which makes it possible to easily remove the nozzle.
A filter It is placed on the cover of the constant level and covers the fuel needle. - * 12 is the differential vacuum outlet placed in the center of the cover so as to avoid any projection of gasoline towards its orifice,
In the recovery device shown in FIG. 2, the primary carburizing generator is composed of an eoron 13 carrying air inlet orifices 14, of the foam concentrate 10, of a part 15 comprising a chamber 16 to the lower part of which the nozzle is fixed. 7 and supporting at its upper part the tube 9 putting in communication the nozzle 7 and the enaler 10, and a tube 17 which joins the water 13 and the part 15;
this rich emulsion generator is isolated from the fuel contained in the constant level by a tube 18, the annular chamber 19 communicating through the orifice 20 with the free space above the fuel of the constant level and with the chamber 16 through the orifices 21 and 22, during idling, the fuel contained in the constant level flows through the orifice 23 of the nozzle into the chamber 16 and through the orifices 21 and 22 into the annular chamber 19; the level in this chamber is established below the level of the fuel in the constant level, at a height which will be determined by the difference between the depressions exerted on the orifice 20 and the end of the tube 9.
If we open the butterfly of the secondary block, the vacuum increases only slightly on the orifice 20 while it will increase more on the end of the tube 9 and the fuel contained in the chambers 16 and 19 will be sucked in. in the foam concentrate through tube 9; when the chanbrea 16 and 19 are free of fuel, the negative pressure prevailing in the tube 9
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
transmitted through the orifices 21 and 22 on the orifioe 20 will slightly raise the negative pressure prevailing at the upper part of the primary block, thus correcting the flow of the gioleur in high engine speeds.
Fig. 3 shows an axial section of the secondary carburetor which comprises an adjusting butterfly valve 24, a diffuser 25 with its two vacuum ports connected to the primary block, and furthermore a capacity 26 supplied with fuel by the channel 27, said capacity having two outlets, one of which is constituted by the idle gioleur 28, and the other, controlled by the valve 29 applied to its seat 30 by the spring 31, opening into the diffuser 25 of the secondary unit via the channel 32 and the venturi tube 33.
The oanal 34 in which the nozzle 28 opens is provided with an orifioe 35 communicating with the atmospheric air, and the via 36 disposed at the end of this oanal makes it possible to adjust the flow rate of the orifice 37 located after the butterfly valve. setting and supplying fuel to the engine during idling.
The piston 38 which controls the shutter 39 is connected to the cylinder 40 by means of a U-shaped part 41 and made either of a suitable leather or of any flexible material capable of withstanding the heat. and various fuels.
The operation is as follows:
When the engine is started, the control throttle 24 being almost closed, the vacuum prevailing in the intake manifold is transmitted through orifice 37, the oanal 34 and the idle jet 28, in the chamber 26 and y sucks through the oanal 27 the fuel coming from the primary block, When the chamber 26 is full of fuel, the engine idling is supplied by the nozzle 28 and the oanal 34.
If we open the control butterfly 24, the vacuum in the oanal 34 decreases, while it increases in the diffuser 25 and the tube
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
of venturi 33. As soon as the vacuum transmitted by the venturi 33 to the valve 29 is greater than that prevailing on the idle jet 28, the valve 29 requested by the strongest vacuum rises, allowing the fuel to escape. quickly towards the venturi 33 and the diffuser 25. A ball 42 closing the channel 27 in the return direction keeps the fuel in the chamber 26 while the venturi 33 absorbs its contents.
The maximum vacuum prevailing on the valve 29 is adjusted such that the capacity 26 being absorbed, the fuel cannot be sucked by the venturi 33 in the primary block.
The acceleration pump, the detail of which is shown in FIG. 4, comprises a pump body 43 which communicates with the secondary unit through the idle jet 44, the channel 45 and the orifice 46, and with the primary unit through the channel 47 comprising the check valve 48. The levers 49 and 50 integral with the movable stop 51 which slides on the guide 52 by compressing the spring 53 aonatituent an elastic coupling of the piston with the throttle control.
The operation is as follows:
During idling, with the secondary block control throttle almost closed, the vacuum is transmitted to the pump body 43 through port 46, channel 45 and idle jet 44, and sucks fuel through oanal 47 contained in the primary block,
When the throttle valve opens, the levers 49 and 50 integral with the accelerator will drive out the green movable stop 51 inside the pump body 43, and the spring 53, being compressed, will in turn drive the piston 54 of the pump at a speed which will be determined by the flow of the contents of the pump body through the idle giblet 44. The valve 48 will be applied to its seat by the pressure of the piston and will oppose the return of fuel to the primary block.
