Descriptive memory filed in support of a patent application formulated by Paul Van Hamont engineer domiciled in Woluwe St Pierre rue François Gay 263 for a "Device for the use of heavy oils in engines.

The present invention relates to an apparatus for the use of heavy oils for ordinary internal combustion engines generally fueled by benzine, and used in cars, trucks, boats, workshops and the like.

According to the invention, the engine which retains its light oil supply device for the start, will be provided with a heavy oil carburetor suitably designed to perform a perfect metering of air and fuel.

According to the invention, the heavy oil fuel mixture will be heated before it is admitted into the engine, by means of the exhaust gases by a suitable device forming part of the invention. One embodiment of the invention is described below, by way of non-limiting example, with reference to the accompanying drawing.

This schematic drawing represents in view and in section the apparatus.

Referring to this drawing, the heavy oil carburetor E (see fig.) Is of a suitable type which performs the rigorous dosage of air and fuel by suction from the engine. K.

The carburized air is then brought to the cylindrical body A. that it passes through in the multitubular bundle B where the complete gzification of the heavy oil takes place.

The tubular faicseua is encrypted outside in the cylindrical body A by the exhaust gases, which are brought there by the piping H. The arrangement of the beam in A may vary depending on the case, it will be straight, wavy or spiraloid. the exit of the multitubular bundle, the air carburizes ez the heavy oil maintained rigorously s. the same temperature, is col-iE, .uit ps'.r a pipe to the suction K of the engine; the admission to the grader is regulated by an accelerator of a common type.

Further according to the invention, the adjustment of the temperature of the

carbide gas at the admission, is obtained thanks to an appropriate thermostat C, subjected to. variations in the temperature of the inlet gases. This thermostat, by control L, regulates the heating of the cylinder body A by the exhaust gas.
