<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

"Device for profiling the grinding wheels of gear grinding machines * ''
The present invention relates to a universal device, based on the principle of generation and capable not only of producing theoretically correct grinding profiles equal to the profile of the tooth to be ground, but of transmitting profiles to said grinding wheel. which derive from it judiciously and from, in a very simple way.
The apparatus, according to the invention, enables such work to be carried out by employing a developing cylinder smaller than the developing circle of the gear to be rectified and by arranging accordingly the point of the diamond describing the profile. of the grindstone and, finally '. by moving the axis of the device relative to the. geometric center of the mesh to be rectified.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The invention also aims, in addition to the execution of the aforesaid work, to establish a simple, compact device, and of a very convenient use against the sirnilary devices, which generally proceed by templates, Profile reproducers, which jigs are generally difficult to execute and most require specialized labor.
Finally, because of its original design, the present device allows to dress in a single operation, the profile and the surface / peripheral of the grinding wheel, while being duly protected from the reach of all bodies. foreigners, resulting in a precise and durable operation of the mechanism.
In order to make the object of the invention clearly understood, a preferred embodiment is described below in detail and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which; Figure 1 is an elevational view of the apparatus; in Figure 2 / is a plan view with the top cover removed; Figures 3 and are side views.
According to its figures and in particular Figures 1 and 3, it should be noted that the apparatus substantially comprises the following elements:
A lower carriage 1 is capable of being fixed on the table of a machine for reetifying the gear teeth.
On this carriage estdposé the actual frame 2 of the apparatus, which has a mount carrying a trolley 3. This supports the entire generation mechanism. For this purpose, it is provided with a bearing 4, in which the pivoting central shaft 5, specially profiled, rests. Also, this bearing 4 serves as a support for the development cylinder 6 and the bearing 7. Between a frame 8 and the aforesaid cylinder 6 are interposed flexible tapes 9 and 10, one of the ends of which is fixed to said frame 8, by screws 11 and 12,
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
while the other end is attached to clips 13 and 14, integral with the carriage 3.
This frame 8, arranged horizontally and supporting the protective cover 30, is provided with two tie rods 15 and 16, below supporting the flange 17, with the intervention of the nuts 18 and 19.
On the other hand, the same frame 8 is connected to the intervention of a rod 20, to an adjustable sliding guide 21, fitting onto the specially shaped shaft 5. The diamond loss 22, terminated by the diamond 23, used to describe the profile of the grinding wheel 24, is housed in an orientable workpiece holder 25, fixed on the frame 8. In addition, the adjustable diamond holder 26, terminated by the diamond 27, used to dress the peripheral surface of the grinding wheel 24, is housed in the shaft 5, of which it is made integral. xxxxxx xxxx To complete 2.'apparatus and in particular to make it completely adjustable, screws 28 and 29 control and adjust / adjust the position of carriages 1 and 2. This arrangement makes it possible in particular to place the appliance in the con - adjustable with respect to the geometric center of the gear to be rectified.
Therefore, it being understood that any involute of a circle can only be formed correctly by the displacement, without sliding or spacing, of a rule on a cylinder, it can be observed that the diamond 23 meets these conditions exactly when the device generation is moved around the axis of the apparatus.
In fact, during its operation, any sliding of the frame 8 on the cylinder 6 is prevented by the presence of the steel strips 9 and 10, as well as any separation from the same frame 8 with respect to the cylinder 6, is impèsl @, on the one hand, by the flange 17 remaining in permanent contact with the bearing 7 and, on the other hand, due to the fact that the rod 20 of the frame 8 guides, in a permanent manner, the sliding guide 21, integral with the axis 5.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
By this provision; it also emerges, as moreover clearly shown by the appended figures, that during the tilting movement of the indentation 8 on the development cylinder 6, movement causing the diamond 23 to describe the profile of the grinding wheel, this frame xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxx has strictly preserved absolute parallelism with respect to the axis of the apparatus.
