Tubular electric incandescent lamp or electric discharge tube.
The present invention relates to a tubular electric incandescent lamp, the filament of which is arranged lengthwise, or a tubular discharge tube, in which the seals through which the current supply wires pass are. formed by protruding parts s.cellé to the wall of the tube.
It has been found that the protruding seals of this kind, which should not be too heavy for technical reasons arising from glassware, are not strong enough on their own to be able to support the base to be cemented satisfactorily.

The invention overcomes this drawback by sealing to the wall of the tube, next to a protruding seal, at least one other protruding part.
In a particular embodiment of the invention the stopper is sealed to the wall of the tube alongside a protruding seal. This results in the additional advantage that the plug can be accommodated in the base together with the protruding seal and is thus better protected than not otherwise against mechanical damage.
The description of the accompanying drawing, given by way of example, will make it clear how the invention can be carried out.
In the figure, 1 designates the wall of the tubular bulb of a lamp provided near its ends with projecting seals 2 and 3 in which are sealed the current supply wires 4 and 5. The filament 6 is supported by son-supports 7 welded, by fusion, in the glass support body 8. The latter is held in place by elastic parts 9 resiliently bearing against the internal wall of the tubular bulb. 10 designates the plug which is sealed to the wall of the tube next to the seal 2, and 11 designates a glass boss sealed to the wall of the tube next to the seal 3.
It is obvious that the protruding parts 2 and 10 cons. together they provide a substantially more robust support for the base to be cemented than the seal 2 alone; The same applies to parts 3 and 11 and the tail 10 is well protected against damage by shocks or other similar causes.
