"ROULEMENTS A GALETS POUR TOURILLONS DE CYLINDRE A CHARGE
ELEVEE "

"ROLLER BEARINGS FOR LOADED CYLINDER JOURNALS
HIGH "
The invention relates mainly to a housing for high pressure cylinders, in which the pressures of the journals are received by support rollers which rotate in roller bearings. The support rollers of known systems are generally based on the rotating outer rings of roller bearings which, for their part, rotate about a fixed axis. Bearings of this kind have the disadvantage that they require very long cylinder journals, for the use of several roller bearings next to each other.

the other. Apart from the high load on the journals, strong bending of the cylinder is absolutely undesirable and often causes inconvenience.
The invention achieves a considerable shortening of the cylinder journals and of the entire cage, by mounting the support rollers on shafts and by the roller bearings with outer rings fixed to both sides; the cylinder-side bearing is located below the cylinder table (above, for the upper cylinder). By separating the housing from the actual roller it is possible to provide a narrow roller and a short journal and to arrange the bearings themselves in an otherwise unused space.
The use of such roller bearings with inner rings, on both sides of the support roller, with the arrangement of two support rollers in a plane, at each bearing, has the further advantage that the The axes of the two rollers have a small spacing, because of the small diameters, and that, therefore, the relative force component is small.
The loading conditions become even more favorable when the cylinder journal is enlarged as much as possible to approximately the diameter of the cylinder. So that the safety of the cylinder against longitudinal displacement does not interfere with the dimensioning of the journals, this safety is advantageously housed at the ends of the journals and the necessary stop is constituted by a crown. thrust bearing caps.
The attached schematic drawing shows the subject of the invention applied to cylinder bearings each comprising two support rollers.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Fig. 1 shows, in the left half, a view of the arrangement of the bearings, and to. straight a section (along the line Z-Z Fig. 2), and Figure 2, two longitudinal sections x-x and y-6.
The pressure of the journal a is received by the two support rollers d. The support rollers rest on emergency journals h, which in turn are each housed in two roller bearings f. The length of the journals a and the width of the roller are chosen so that the bearings f., On the cylinder side, are housed below the cylinder, in an otherwise unused space. As a result, the whole arrangement of the bearings and the cage is very tight and all the forces are favorably received and transmitted. The rollers should be given as small a diameter as possible so that the component acting on each roll and depending on the angle becomes as small as possible. By reducing the angle, the ratios can become even more favorable, if the diameter of the journal a is increased.
To this end, the safety against longitudinal displacement is usefully arranged at the end k of the journal a. The necessary stop m is produced by a flange connected to the cap n and resting on it.
