The body of the apparatus comprises a frame 1, in the form of a bowl. A sleeve 2 (fig. 4) is crimped in the center of the bowl 1. A finger stop plate 3 (fig. 2) is fixed to the base by means of two screws 4 and 4 'and carries, for the determination of its position, two bibs 3A and 3A'. This stop plate 3 has a support 3B (figs.4 and 2), for the shaft 9 carrying the impulse cam 14 and a support 30 (figs.ll and 2) for the bearing of the shaft 22 of the centrifugal governor.
The metal washer 5 and the driving wheel 6, which carries a propellant spring 7, by means of a screw 8,, and a boss to determine its position, are fixed on the bush 2 (fig. 5 and 4). lower part of the drive wheel 6 there is a collar 6A / (fig.4) which reduces the friction surface. A metal washer 30 fits on a part of larger diameter of the shaft 28 (figs. 4 and 6). The axis 9, carrying a toothed plate 11 and the impulse cam 14 / is mounted in such a way that the teeth (the plate of the pinion in groups and before riveting it on the shank) can be balled, using an intermediate washer 10.
The purpose of the latter is to put the plate 11 into engagement with a part next to the axis made with the press as shown in FIG. 8. The impulse cam 14.in insulating material / is held in place on the 'axis between a nut 13 and a rounded washer 15 fixed by a nut 16 (fig.9). A small metal washer 12 is placed on the pinion pin between the pinion support and the shoulder of pin 9. This assembly is introduced into position in the device through an opening in the base 1 and an opening of the finger stopper. The elastic stop plate 17 is fixed in the bowl 1 by means of a screw 18 and a boss (figs.3 and 4) It is provided with a tab 17A, serving as a support for the pinion 9.
The tab 17B which serves as a stop / makes a spring to cushion the too abrupt stop of the dial and to limit the movement of the latter.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
The centrifugal governor consists of the worm shaft 22 in hardened steel (fig.2), mating hard in / the hub 24. The shaft is flattened and polished at its end to rest on the Bearing 19 fixed by a nut 21 on a leg of the base bent at right angles. A hardened steel stop 20 (fig. 12) is screwed into the threaded end of the cup 19 s, so that it can be replaced without dismantling the device or without removing the bearings of the regulator.
The opposite end of the shaft 22 and the recess in the adjustment screw 26 (fig.ll) are made so that the shaft 22 of the regulator is locked when the latter wants to rest on it. It follows that the regulator is stalled. on the one hand by the stop plate and on the other hand by the adjusting screw 26, which guarantees correct operation of the device, since the pulse cam 14 will always remain in the correct position during handling of the device. In this system, the regulator can only turn freely in one direction, @@ because, by taking its support in the recess of the screw 26, it wedges. The adjusting screw 26 is mounted in the support 3c of the finger stop plate 3 and is locked there by a lock nut 27.
The sleeve 24 carries at one end a collar on which is mounted the phosphor bronze spring 23 by means of the formation of a cup. This spring 23 is also held, by riveting and blows, with a needle on this collar of the sleeve 24 and the latter is fixed to a knurled part of the shaft. To the ends of the regulator spring are riveted the counterweights 25 and 25 '. The shaft - '111 mounted on a single bearing, carries a toothed plate 29 and its head is provided with bos- sottes 28a and 28A' (fig. 3) which determine the position of the toothed plate 29, which is in a stamped part) fixed on

This spring 45 is strong enough to push the double contact bypass spring 49 against the single contact bypass stop spring 48. The small impulse spring 40 is quite thin and single contact and has such tension. that it will remain stuck against the insulating stopper 46 of the main shunt spring 45. during its recoil. The main impulse spring 41 is single contact and has a beak 102, which is capable of being controlled by the impulse cam, and its tension is such that it comes back into contact with the spring d. The card system consists of a clamping plate, in the form of a cup 54, the bottom of which is pierced with a hole allowing its placement on the main shaft 28, a retaining ring 56, d a transparent cover 57 and a label 58, all forming a unit easily removable from the perforated plate. A special screw 55 (figs.14. And 4) fixes the number plate 52, the finger hole plate 53 and the clamping plate 54 of the card system, on the main shaft 28 and its toothed plate 29. For fixing the clamping plate 54, the screw 55 has a collar to trap it while leaving it free to turn around the head of the main shaft 28.
The label holder or retaining ring 56 carries a transparent plate 57 and an instruction card 58 which are held by stampings (fig.16) in the label holder. It is also provided with two tabs (fig. 15) which come to be placed under the elastic clips of the hole plate 53 for the finger by making it execute a partial rotation in the bowl, so that the card system is well stalled and will not move while the dial is operating. The height of the screw 55 and the height of the clamping plate 54 are such that they apply the transparent cover 57 and the label 58 against the edge of the label holder 56 (fig.4). The entire instruction card system fixing device is concealed when the device is in place.
In order to turn the device / the retaining ring has two protrusions 56D (fig.
1). The label holder is also provided with a tab folded over its edge (fig. 17) which serves to determine the position of the label and its cover, as well as to prevent any rotation between the label, its transparent cover. and the retaining ring.

The take-up disc according to the present invention operates as follows: When the dial 53 is rotated clockwise, the toothed plate 29 of the shaft 28 is rotated, so that the motor spring 31 is put under tension. At the start of the movement of the dial, the arm 33 integral with the shaft 28 moves away from the stop 46 of the main shunt spring 45, which allows the bypass springs 45, 49 and 48 to come into contact with the springs. impulse 40 and 41 to come within the reach of the

When the dial is released and begins to return to its initial position; under the action of the mainspring 31, the propellant spring group is brought into relation with it ot as the driving wheel 6 is in engagement with the axis 9, this axle, impeller 11, and centrifugal governor 22 are actuated, the governor performing its normal function of maintaining uniform operating speed of the mechanism.
: The impulse cam 14 integral with the axis 9 also fulfills its function which is to open the line circuit. At the beginning of the last half of the pulse oame 14, the arm 33 again meets the insulating stop 46 of the spring.

shunt 45. Just / before the time when the cam would ordinarily operate the impulse springs 40 and 41 again, the arm 33 moves them out of the range of the impulse cam. which makes his last turn ineffective. The stop 290 of the toothed plate 29 then meets the elastic stop 17B of the pinion support 17 and prevents the sudden jerk.
Any tendency / group of impalsions to get ahead is suppressed by the fact that the propellant spring brakes against the lower part of the toothed plate 29, and since the driving wheel is integral with said spring, the system impulse is blocked by said wheel, as well as by the regulator / which is prevented ,, by its adjusting screw / from turning in the other direction. This results in easy movement of the dial and quiet operation / the device being almost completely closed by its indicator plate.
