Selon le mode. de réalisation de l'invention représenté dans la fi. gure 1, cette chaudière est celle que comportent les installa- tions domestiques ordinaires de chauffage central à eau chaud;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

The present invention relates to thermosiphon heating installations of the type in which the water heated in;
EMI1.2
the boiler of the first installation is not e, 7s - even consamir6et but is used to heat the water necessary for domestic needs and intended to be drawn from the pipes it runs through.
The aim of the invention is to achieve an installation. tion of this kind, capable of supplying large quantities of hot water at a relatively constant temperature for domestic purposes by requiring only a comparative boiler-
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
ment small ..
For this purpose, the thermosyphon heating installation that the invention is aimed at comprises a boiler which may have only a comparatively low water capacity, a large capacity water tank connected to this boiler to allow, to the water heated therein to circulate therein, and a receptacle of small capacity compared to that of said reservoir, which receptacle communicates through its upper part with the upper part of this reservoir and by its lower part with the lower part of it and contains a coil or an equivalent system of tubes through which the water necessary for domestic needs must pass to heat it up.
The accompanying drawing shows various embodiments of the invention.
FIG. 1 shows a thermosiphon heating installation constituting a first embodiment.
FIG. 2 is a longitudinal section of the container containing two tubular bundles and used for heating water intended for domestic use.
Figure 3 shows a slight variant of the installation of Figure 1.
FIG. 4 shows another variant according to which the receptacle enclosing the coil is placed inside the water tank.
In these figures, 1 denotes the furnace or boiler of the installation which may be of any suitable type.
Depending on the mode. embodiment of the invention shown in fi. gure 1, this boiler is the one included in ordinary domestic hot water central heating installations;
2 designates the pipe bringing hot water to the radiators of this installation and 3, the pipe bringing this water back from the radiators to the boiler. 4 designates a large capacity water tank in which the water heated in the boiler 1 is conducted by
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
a pipe 6 to return to this boiler by a pipe
7. A small container 8 is connected to this water tank 4 by two pipes 9 and 10, the pipe 9 communicating the upper parts of the tank 4 and the container 8, while the pipe 10 communicates their lower parts.
In this small receptacle 8 is mounted a coil 11 traversed by the water necessary for domestic needs and brought by a pipe 12 which has the advantage of being connected directly to a cold water pipe. This water once heated in the coil 11 sten goes through a pipe 14 provided with draw taps 13.
As long as there is a temperature difference between the water in boiler 1 and the water in tank 4, water circulation is maintained in pipes 6 and 7, the tank, 4 and boiler 1 in the direction indicated by arrows. : Similarly, the water contained in the tank 4 circulates, as shown by the arrows, through the container 8 containing the coil 11 through which the water used for domestic needs * passes.
When a certain quantity of this water is drawn through the taps 13, the water which is in the receptacle 8 is thereby deprived of part of its heat, so that, when cooled, this water descends through pipe 10 to. bottom of tank 4, while hotter water from the latter, arrives through pipe 9 in said container.
It should be noted here that the hot and cold water contained in the tank 4 are kept separate due to their different density, so that, even if large quantities of water are drawn through the taps 13 for domestic needs, the water entering the container 8 through the pipe 9 will remain at a relatively constant temperature.
In Figure 2 is shown a variant of the container 8 and its tube system, the coil being here replaced by two bundles of straight tubes. To facilitate the cleaning of these bundles 11a and 11b, the container 8 is closed at one of its ends by a removable bottom 15. According to the construction shown.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
ted, the tubes 11a conduct the cold water arriving through one side of the domestic needs pipe from a vestibular chamber 18 delimited by the bottom 15, the front tubular flange 16 and a partition 17 to a chamber 20 located beyond of the rear tubular flange 19; from this chamber, this water returns through the tubes 11b to another vestibular chamber 21 located above the chamber 18 from which it is separated by the partition 17.
To this chamber 21 is connected the starting pipe 14 which supplies the water. hot necessary for domestic needs. The tubular bundles 11a and 11b have the advantage of being separated by a partition 32 which forces the water passing through the container 8 to follow their constituent tubes in their longitudinal direction.
According to the variant shown in Figure 3, the pipe. 10 which connects the lower parts of the tank 4 and the container
8 is jacketed by the pipe 12 which brings 11 to the cold of the domestic pipe to the coil 11 so as to lower the temperature of the water circulating in said pipe 10 and to accelerate the circulation of the water through the container 8.
In certain cases, it may be advantageous to place the receptacle 8 inside the reservoir 4, in its upper part, as shown in figure 4. In such cases, the hot water in the reservoir 4 overflows. from the open top of the container
8 and is conducted in the cold state by pipe 10 to the bottom of tank 4.
The invention is, moreover, not limited to the embodiments which have just been described and which are represented. details of execution may vary without departing from your mind.,
