the cooling time, have the disadvantage that it forms during the annealing operation of the water vapor and that during the cooling this vapor again oxidizes the re-heating material.
According to the present invention, this drawback is eliminated by the fact that the water vapor is enclosed in the oven during the re-heating operation or after completion of this operation. the removal of the water vapor can be by cooling, by sweeping, or by suitable circulation of the vapor. special cooling chambers can be fitted in the furnace space, for example in the bottom, which are cooled with water and in which the water vapor coming from the furnace condenses. Refrigerant coils can also be fitted at the bottom of the furnace space, but in this case the coils must be protected against the action of heat from the actual annealing zone. , for example by means of masonry.
The accompanying drawings show, by way of example, execution forces of a blank re-heating oven in which water vapor is condensed by air and refrigerant.
In fig. 1, the furnace 1, which is surrounded by a hermetically sealed sheet metal jacket 2, is used to anneal the annealing articles 3. Below the bottom of the furnace are provided cooling chambers 4 which are cooled by means of a coil 5. The vapor condenses in these refrigerating chambers and the formed ** water can flow out through pipe 6.
Fig. 2 shows an oven, the bottom of which is provided with a refrigerating coil 7. The water condensed on this coil flows through pipes 8 and 9.

Instead of removing water vapor from the oven by cooling, it can also be removed by mixing it with the shielding gas, passing it through the oven and taking care, for example. heating the outlet openings, to prevent this vapor from condensing or precipitating again. The heating of the gas outlet opening can be done by means of a special heating coil.
According to the invention, the water vapor can also be removed by flushing with hydrogen.
This flushing can be done by increasing the gas pressure after the end of the re-heating, or else from the fact that during the cooling time the quantity of protective gas introduced is increased, the gas being brought to the oven during the cooling time. cooling and removed from the oven by means of one or more additional pipes.
In the process described, the gas mixture passes into the open air and is lost for any subsequent use. According to the present invention, the arrangement may be such that the gas mixture is drawn from the oven by means of a circulation pump and is returned to the oven after removal of the moisture. This ensures the advantage of not losing the precious protective gas.
Fig. 3 shows such an arrangement.
Cn 'has connected to the lowest point 10 of the blank re-oven 1, which is surrounded by a protective jacket 2, a pipe 11 which leads to a circulation pump 12. This pump delivers the gases and vapors. sucked through the scrubber 13, which is filled with a material 14 capable of retaining vapors, and from there the dried shielding gas is returned to the oven through the pipe
