Ce dispositif comporte un conduit raocordé à un rêser -voir d'essence ou exhausteur lequel conduit est pourvu d'un robinet pouvant être commandé du siège du conducteur et qui débouche dans le carburateur à l'endroit où le cylindre par l'aspiration prend le carburant;
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Device allowing the use of a light fuel applicable to carburettors
The present invention relates to a device allowing the call of a fuel applicable to carburettors and mainly finding its application in starting internal combustion engines.
This device comprises a duct connected to a gasoline tank or exhaust which duct is provided with a valve which can be controlled from the driver's seat and which opens into the carburetor at the point where the cylinder by the suction takes the fuel;
The purpose of this valve is to bring the desired quantity of light and easily flammable fuel into the cylinder. This device therefore allows easy start-up both for the gasoline engine and for those powered by a heavier fuel , such as mazouth, gasoil, petroleum, given that by a simple operation of a tap, the petrol level can be raised without touching the carburetor; moreover, in the case of fueling the engine by heavier gas. idling can be induced by allowing the engine to draw gasoline

either alone or in combination with a heavier fuel, and emptying the carburetor whenever the use of gasoline is considered necessary is avoided.
In the accompanying drawing is shown by way of example an embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a vertical section through a "Zenith" carburetor FIG. 2 is a cross section through a "Ford" type carburetor with application of the device according to the invention

gasoline ", ie by pulling the needle, raise the fuel level in the carburetor bowl to obtain a rich gas in the cylinder during suction.
The device according to the invention makes it possible to carry out this operation from the seat of the car and to add gasoline to the nozzle as and when the engine needs, thereby saving and then eliminating the risk of drowning. gasoline the cylinder.
This device consists of a conduit bringing the es- -ce near the nozzle !; this location can be any and if the drawing shows that the duct opens out under the nozzle or needle, according to fig. 1 and 2, it can however bring the light fuel to any other place of the carburetor since according to the invention, it is important to supply the necessary light fuel, in the event that the engine is powered by a carburetor.

bypass of the fuel line
A valve ± allows the flow of the petrol necessary or complementary to the fuel; according to fig.3, this valve ± or needle can be operated from the driver's seat.
When starting up, the overflow produced by the additional gasoline supplied by the pipe a is drawn in by the suction and the float 1 only lets the needle c open if the flow rate of the pipe a is not sufficient. not to the needs of the engine; flow rate can be easily adjusted by using a graduated control valve or needle.
The installation of the new device can be done in different ways depending on where the fuel tank or exhaustear is located. Fig. 3 schematically shows an application on an exhauster where a is the fuel line necessary or in addition for the proper functioning of the engine, f, the ordinary fuel line pipe from the exhauster g to the carburetor , h, the control lever placed under the apron. For vehicles which have the tank under the apron, the pipe a can be fixed with its needle on the tank itself. In the two types of carburetor shown in fig. 1 and 2, the arrival of fuel according to the invention is indicated in the direct vicinity of the nozzle or of the device which takes its place.
It is understood that this arrangement is not absolute for cars using only one fuel since in this case the fuel can be brought to any other place either in the cellar or in the carburetor tubing. . As has been said above, 'the new device also finds its application in engines running with the alternative use of two fuels, which is the case for engines whose start-up takes place with gasoline and which subsequently uses another heavier and less flammable fuel.
The new device makes it possible to start the engine of this last kind and even with the carburettor full of cold heavy fuel without having to empty the engine.

carburettor bowl either at the end of the vehicle's journey or before it is started to replace the low-flammable fuel with light gasoline or another light fuel.
The invention has been described purely as an indication and in no way limiting and it goes without saying that numerous modifications can be made to its details without departing from its spirit.
