<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

The invention relates to an apparatus for cleaning an ice tong.
The cleaning of an ice tongs is usually carried out by immersing the ice tongs in a container containing water, the user being able to actuate the mechanism of the ice tongs to facilitate the detachment of the residues on the tongs. It should be noted that, as and when successive cleanings, the water stagnating in the tank quickly becomes polluted, which clearly presents a lack of hygiene, particularly damaging for the ice-cream merchants, this phenomenon being further accentuated by hot weather, especially for street vendors.
The present invention makes it possible to avoid this drawback thanks to an apparatus making it possible to use unsullied water at each cleaning, and this in reasonable quantity.
The apparatus according to the invention comprises a tank, for example made of stainless steel, provided with an internal conduit with an orifice allowing the production of a jet of water when the conduit is connected to an external water supply source thanks to a small outdoor electric pump.
The tank is also provided at the top with a support means intended to support the handle of an ice tongs. When the interior of the globe of the ice tongs is placed above the orifice of the interior duct,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
and when the user activates the pump, the interior duct projects a jet of water inside the pincer's globe, the water then falls back into the tank from where it is evacuated via a main orifice located at the bottom of the tank. The tank may be provided with a cover in order to hide the device and avoid any splashing. The use of clean water for each cleaning achieves a manifestly high level of hygiene.
The invention is explained in more detail below with the aid of the accompanying drawings, in which: FIG. 1 is a front view of an exemplary embodiment of the apparatus according to the invention.
Figure 2 is a sectional view of the apparatus of Figure 1 after a rotation of 900 clockwise.
As shown in the drawings, the apparatus according to the invention consists of a tank 1, for example a cylindrical tank of stainless steel, provided with an internal duct 2 having an orifice 3 at its upper end. The conduit 2 is connected to a supply conduit 4 intended to be connected to an external water supply, for example an electric pump connected to a water reserve. The tank 1 is also provided on its upper part with an external support channel 5 and has at its lower part a discharge duct 6. The tank 1 preferably, but not necessarily, has an internal partition 7 pierced with openings 8 in its lower part. This partition 7 has a double purpose.
On the one hand, it serves as a support at the end of the support channel 5 and as an internal support member for the handle of a clamp.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
to stabilize the installation of it. On the other hand, the partition 7 makes it possible to confine the fallout of water from the jet and to avoid splashing. Finally, the tank 1 can be provided with a cover 9 in order to hide the device and avoid any splashing.
When using the device, the user deposits the handle of the ice tongs on the support channel 5, the inside of the globe of the ice tongs being positioned above the orifice 3 of the interior duct. 2.
Thus when the pipe 2 is supplied with water, a jet of water springs from the orifice 3 of the pipe 2 directly inside the globe of the ice tongs, from which it wets and cleans the interior surface. The water then falls back into the tank, from where it is evacuated thanks to the evacuation duct 6. The back of the globe can be cleaned by simply inverting the forceps over the water jet.
The invention therefore makes it possible to use clean water for each cleaning, which provides a particularly high level of hygiene.
The embodiment of the invention described in the foregoing is an example given by way of illustration and the invention is in no way limited to this example.
Any modification, any variant and any equivalent arrangement must be considered to be within the scope of the invention.
