Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication et de renforcement d'une unité catalytique (1) destinée à l'épuration de gaz d'échappement, caractérisée en ce qu'une unité hélicoïdale (1) est formée à partir d'une bande de feuille ondulée (2) et d'une bande de feuille droite (3), revêtues à l'avance d'une couche de matière de support et d'une couche de catalyseur, laquelle unité peut être de forme ovale ou ronde. Après la formation de l'unité, on presse un support (4) à travers l'unité, le support empêchant le déroulement de l'unité et le frottement des bandes de feuilles l'une contre l'autre et on forme ainsi une unité catalytique rigide (1) qui conserve sa forme.
