SEAT MOUNTING APPARATUS OF AUTOMOBILE BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a seat mounting apparatus of an automobile.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ART A variety of structures have been disclosed for seats, front and rear seats installed in an automobile to provide passengers with comfort. Hereinafter, a description will be made for a rear seat.
10 As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, a predetermined size of a hole 14 is formed on a floor plate 12 where a rear seat is mounted in a conventional car, and a reinforcing plate 16 is welded beneath the hole 14 of the floor plate 12. The reinforcing plate 16 is coupled over a cross member 18 installed across the width of the automobile.
A mounting bar 22 is attached with bolts 20 at the part where the hole 14 is formed. A seat latch 24 having a seat track 23 is inserted into the mounting bar 22 to fix the seat. The seat track 23 and the seat latch 24 are not illustrated in FIG. 1.
At this time, two mounting bars 22 are installed for each seat, and bolts 22 are fixed at both sides of a mounting bar 22. The hole 14 prevents the seat latch 24 from contacting the floor plate 12.
Furthermore, seal members 26 are positioned to seal up a part where an edge of the hole 14 and the reinforcing plate 16 are met to refrain water from infiltrating through the hole 14 to the internal part of the floor plate 12. In addition, seal members 26' are also positioned at a part where the cross member 18 is met with the floor plate 12 and the reinforcing plate 16.
However, according to the conventional seat mounting apparatus of an automobile described above, two mounting bars 22 are coupled for each seat and each of the mounting bars 22 is fastened with bolts 20, so as to be disadvantageous in the assembling process.
Also, there is another problem in the conventional seat mounting apparatus in that an additional seal member should be applied to prevent infiltration of water because the seat mounted part is weak with a hole.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention is disclosed to solve the aforementioned problems 10 and it is an object of the present invention to provide a seat mounting apparatus •of an automobile to reduce steps of the assembling process but increase the strength of the seat mounted part.
oo ~It is the other object of the present invention to provide a seat mounting ooo.
apparatus of an automobile that does not need seal members to prevent 15 infiltration of water into the floor plate.
In order to accomplish the aforementioned objects of the present invention, there is provided a seat mounting apparatus of the present invention which includes mounting bars having a seat track installed on a floor plate, the apparatus comprising: a cross member positioned on the floor plate across the width of the automobile; and a mounting bar fixed along the longitudinal direction of the cross member.
At this time, the cross member is bent to form a predetermined size of space apart from the floor plate. The mounting bar is fixed at the internal edge of the cross member across the width of the automobile. There is a plurality of through holes along the longitudinal direction of the cross member at a predetermined interval of length. At the through holes the seat track is hinged with the mounting bar by way of a seat latch.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS For fuller understanding of the nature and object of the invention, reference should be made to the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings in which: FIG. 1 is a perspective view for illustrating a seat mounting apparatus of a conventional automobile without a seat; FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view cut along arrow line A-A in FIG. 1 (for illustrating below a seat); FIG 3 is a perspective view for illustrating a seat mounting apparatus of 10 an automobile in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention; FIG 4 is a cross-sectional view cut along arrow line B-B in FIG. 3 (for illustrating below a seat); and FIG. 5 is a cross-sectional view cut along arrow line C-C in FIG. 3.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Objects and aspects of the invention will become apparent from the following detailed description of a preferred embodiment with reference to the Saccompanying drawings.
As shown in FIG. 3, a cross member 34 is fixed on a floor plate 32 across the width of an automobile to mount a rear seat. A mounting bar 36 is fixed at the internal edge of the cross member 34 along the longitudinal direction.
At this time, the cross member 34 is bent and coupled on the floor plate 32 to form a predetermined size of space 38 therebetween. Flanges 40, 42 are formed at both sides of the cross member 34. A predetermined size of through holes 44 are formed at the edge where the mounting bar 36 is fixed at the cross member 34 at a predetermined interval of length L so that parts of the mounting bar 36 is exposed out through the through holes 44. Two though holes 44 are formed for each seat.
The flanges 40, 42 of the cross member 34 are welded at the floor plate 32.
As shown in FIG. 4, a seat latch 48 attached at a seat track 46 is inserted to the mounting bar 36 exposed through the through holes 44 for coupling with a seat. The seat track 46 and the seat latch 48 are not illustrated in FIG. 3. At this time, accommodating grooves 49 are formed in the seat latch 48 to accommodate the mounting bar 36. The accommodating grooves of the seat 10 latch 48 are formed at a predetermined interval of the length. The mounting bar 36 is inserted to the accommodating grooves 49, and then bent for tight **fixation.
S* As shown in FIG. 5, the mounting bar 36 is welded along the front edge of the internal part of the cross member 34. At this time, welded parts 50 are S 15 made by a continuous or discontinuous welding method along the longitudinal direction of the cross member 34. The welded part 50 can also be made by a spot welding method.
The seat mounting apparatus of the present invention thus constructed can be completed in the simple assembling processes by welding the mounting bar 36 at an edge of the cross member 32 along the longitudinal direction for fixation, welding the flanges 40, 42 of the cross member 32 at the floor plate 32, and inserting the seat latch 48 through the through holes 44 to the mounting bar 36.
As described above, the seat mounting apparatus of the present invention is advantageous in reducing the number of assembling steps and increasing the strength of the seat mounted part without an additional sealing step to prevent infiltration of water into the floor plate.
In addition, the seat mounting apparatus of the present invention is advantageous in reducing the number of mounting bars and making a flexible arrangement of the seat with a plurality of through holes formed at the cross member.
The term "comprising" as used herein is used in the inclusive sense of "including" or "having" and not in the exclusive sense of "consisting only of".
