Description

TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE COMPOSITION FOR TREATMENT OF DAIRY COW IAMINITIS AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF FIELD OF THE INVENTION [0001] The invention relates to the field of animal medicines, and in particular, to a traditional Chinese medicine composition-for treatment of dairy-cow-laminitis and-apreparation method thereof. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION [00021 Digcstivc disorder results from feeding of high-carbohydrate fecdstuff and long-term feeding of high-protein feedstuff during dairy cow raising. and will lead to laminitis. Laminitis that has considerable harm could arouse loss of appetite, decrease of milk yield, sweating, muscle tremor, hoof coronet tremor, pain during hoof wall percussion, and even the incapability of standing in some severe cases, thus eventually causing the death of dairy cows and further creating economic loss of raisers. [0003] Nowadays, oral administration or injection methods of antibiotics, hormones, chemical drugs and the like, are used for the treatment of dairy cow lam initis by most or the raisers, and massive use of the above drugs, though fast in effect, could generate toxic and side effects, allergy, double infection, drug resistance and other harms. Massive use of the antibiotics could result in drug resistance in a large amount of bacteria, which are subsequently turned into drug-resistant strains. For dairy cows to which antibiotics and other drugs are administered, there is severe drug residue in their byproduct milk, affecting milk quality negatively and threatening human health. [00041 Some raisers clean the sensitive laminae of hoof with externally-applied drugs, and such a method can achieve direct contact with lesions, but it is complex in use and 1 RECEIVED TIME 21. Fresh blood is collected using a caudal vein blood collection method and then labeled, afterwards, the blood is diluted and then dripped into a special computing disc, and the computing disc with the blood thereon is put under a microscope to obtain the quantity of leucocytes and detect the quantity change of leucocytes in dairy cow blood. 7 RECEIVED TIME 21. JUN. 14:28 [0053] 1.4 Diagnosis Criteria of Dairy Cow Laminitis [0054] Dairy cow laminitis can be diagnosed based on such symptoms as incapability of standing and walking normally, stiff gait, lying on the ground, decrease of both feed intake and milk yield, increase of hoof wall temperature, red and swollen hoof sole and the like. Significant increase of the quantity of leucocytes in blood is observed by means of a blood routine test for discased dairy cows. [0055] 1.5 Grouped Drug Use [00 56] The traditional Chinese medicine composition is used for the composition trial group according to usage instructions; the amoxicillin soluble powder is used for the amoxicillin control group in a manner of being mixed with feedstuff. The quantity of leucocytes, milk yield, feed intake and hoofing condition of the two groups of dairy cows in the blood routine test are observed after 15 days, and detailed record is made ccry 3 days. [0057] 1.6 Judgment on Curative Effect [0058] The normal quantity of leucocytes in dairy cow blood is 12x1 0 9 /L, a healthy dairy cow has an average daily milk yield of 35kg and takes feed 7-9 times on average with large feed intake each time, and the surface of hoof sole is smooth and soft as well as pink in color. [0059] 2. Trial Result [0060] 2.1 Deternination on Average Quantity of Leucocytes in Dairy Cow BI(Xd Time Composition Trial Group Amoxicillin Trial Group 1-3 d (20-23) x10911, (21-23) x10'/T, 4-6 d (18-20) x10 9 /L (19-21) x10 9 /L 7-9 d (15-17) x10 9 /L (17-19) x109/L 10-12 d (12-14) x10 9 /L (16-17) x10 9 /L 8 RECEIVED TIME 21. JUN. 14:28 13-15 d 12x109/L (14-16) x1OV/L [0061] The quantity of leucocytes in the blood of the two groups of dairy cows is signi ficantly higher than a normal value aL the early stage of this trial, which indicates that all the dairy cows suffer from quite severe laminitis. And with the constant drug use for these two groups, the quantity of leucocytes in the blood gradually approaches the normal value. This means that, in laminitis treatment, the effect in the composition trial group is better than that in the amoxicillin trial group. [0062] 2.2 Comparison Result of Milk Yield Changes During Drug Use Time Composition Trial Group Amoxicillin Trial Group 1-3 d 20 kg 21 kg 4-6d 23kg 24kg 7-9 d 25 kg 26 kg 10-12 d 29 kg 27 kg 13-15 d 35 kg 30 kg [00631 It can be seen clearly from the above trial data that, milk yield increase in the composition trial group is higher than that in the amoxicillin trial group, and milk from the dairy cows of the control group is inedible in this process because drug residue is formed due to use of antibiotics. As a totally pure traditional Chinese medicine, the traditional Chinese medicine composition of the invention is free from drug residue inside animals and therefore guarantees safe, green and pollution-free byproducts, such as milk. After amoxicillin is administered to the dairy cows of the amoxicillin control group, the curative effect of this drug is gradually reduced since drug resistance is generated, and the milk yield is increased slowly, instead, after the traditional Chinese medicine composition of the invention is administered, no drug resistance is generated, the curative effect is gradually increased, the appetite of dairy cows is improved, and finally, the milk yield is increased. 9 nrr TUrR\ T ThAr Ai 1lkl A A A [0064] 2.3 Hoofing Treatment Condition Time Composition Trial Group Amoxicillin Trial Group 1-3 d Rough, red and swollen surface, red and swollen surface, quite even pus discharge, increase of much pus, high hoof wall hoof wall temperature temperature 4-9 d Crust on surface, gradually Improvement of red and swollen reduced abscess, decrease of surface, decrease of hoof wall hoof wall temperature temperature 10-15 d Complete elimination of crust, Disappearance of pus, smooth smooth surface, and pink skin and little red surface [0065] It can be seen from the above comparison results that, the effect of the traditional Chincsc mcdicinc composition of the invention is significantly superior to that of the amoxicillin trial group in hoof bottom treatment. The traditional Chinese medicine composition of the invention can reduce swelling rapidly, lower hoof wall temperature, ameliorate the inflammation on hoof bottom effectively, relieve pain and improve the mental state of dairy cows. The feed intake of dairy cows is increased so as to increase the milk yield. [0066] 3 Trial Result [00671 After the traditional Chinese medicine composition of the invention is used, discascd dairy cows arc ablc to stand and walk normally, thcir fccd intake and milk yicld are both increased to some extent, and their hoof wall temperature gets back to a normal temperature. 27 (87.1%) diseased dairy cows are oured and the other dairy cows are improved to some extent. 20 (64.52%) diseased dairy cows in the amoxicillin trial group are cured, symptoms of the other diseased dairy cows are relieved, but the curative effect in the amoxicillin trial group is obviously weaker than that in the composition trial group. Heartbeat, breath, activity strength and mental state of all the dairy cows are within a normal range in the entire treatment process, and there is no dead dairy cow and no any adverse reaction, therefore, the traditional Chinese medicine composition of the invention 10 RECEIVED TIME 21.UJ, 14:28 has excellent curative effect in treatment of dairy cow laminitis and is free from toxic and side effects. [0068] 4. Trial Conclusion [0069] 10 g traditional Chinese medicine composition is used for dairy cow during lactation period each time, 15 g traditional Chinese medicine composition is used for dairy cow during non-lactation period each time, three times a day, and the composition is mixed with feedstuff when used. The optimal curative effect for dairy cow laminitis can be achieved after the composition is continuously used for 15 days. 11 RFCFIVFD TIMF 21. JUN. 14:28
