Guide fork for roller pantographs on electric vehicles.
The roller pantographs used in the operation of electric railways have the known disadvantage that the contact rollers often jump off the conductor wire when driving. The striker bars then hit the supporting structure and damage the overhead line.
The invention aims to eliminate this drawback. It consists of a guide fork that is articulated on all sides and is attached to the guide rod just before the contact roller by means of a clamp connection. The contact role is therefore inevitably guided and its derailment is made more difficult if the line vibrates.
The novelty of the invention is that the fork is connected to its carrier by double hinges, which, like a door opening outwards and inwards, allow an adjustment backwards and forwards without jolts and possibly up to 900 times. As a result of the arrangement of two coil springs, after taking obstacles such. B. suspension wires, the fork always spring back into its natural position. Another advantage is a helical spring mounted in a divided housing below the support of the forks, the tension of which can be adjusted depending on the tightening of the bolt connecting the two housing covers and which enables the fork to move in the manner of a ball joint.
The drawing shows such a guide fork. The guide arms a, between which the contact wire lies, can consist of metal, wood or fiber. b are metal brackets in which the arms a are supported. c are helical springs that are fastened laterally by means of screws d and the possibility of oscillation is limited by the stops ee. gg are joints of the double hinges f, which can swing out to the right and left. h shows a helical spring which is stored in the housing i and connected to the carrier n in an adjustable manner by means of the bolts k.
I are the clamps arranged at an obtuse angle to attach the guide fork to the pick-up rod o by means of the clamping jaws pp and the bolts together with locking nuts r, so that the guide fork is in front of the roller in the direction of travel.
