Braking device for motor vehicles.
The invention relates to a braking device for motor vehicles and consists in that the actuating members of the rear wheel brake are mounted in the hollow rods of the triangular bracing of the rear axle bridge. This device can be used with both cardan and chain trolleys.
In the drawing, the device according to the invention is produced in two exemplary embodiments with cardan cars. FIGS. I and 2 show the braking device provided with pull cables in two views; FIGS. 3 and 4 also show the other embodiment in two views.
The two rear brakes 1 are actuated by a common pull cable 2 (FIGS. 1 and 2) which is guided through the hollow rods 3 of the triangular bracing of the rear axle bridge so that no brake actuation elements are visible from the outside. At the front end of the rods 3, the pull cable 2 is guided over rollers 4 of the same and a roller 5, the latter being attached to one arm 6 of the angle lever 6, 7, the other arm 7 of which is connected to the handbrake lever 9, 10 by a pull rod 8 is. When braking, the roller 5 is lifted and pulls the rope 2 on.
The traction cable 2, which is common to both brakes and which is guided over the pull-in roller 5, achieves an even distribution of tractive force on both brakes and therefore a complete brake compensation so that the vehicle cannot skid when braking.
EMI1.1
(Fig. 3 and 4) be mounted in the rods 3, the front end of which carries an arm 12 which is connected to a balancer 14 by a link 13. The balancer 14 connecting both shafts 11 in this way can be rotated on the arm 6 of an angle lever 6, 7, the other arm 7 of which is connected to the handbrake lever 9, 10 by a pull rod 8. Similar to the tightening roller 5 (FIGS. 1 and 2), the balancer 14 takes care of the brake compensation, so that in this embodiment too the brake shoes are tightened equally on both the right and the left rear wheel.
Instead of the pull rope 2 and the roller 5 (FIGS. 1 and 2), pull rods and a balancer can also be used. The one or. Adjustment of the brakes is achieved by regulating the length of the tie rod by means of a clamping nut 15.
