Pipe rupture valve with double conical nozzle arranged behind the valve.
The invention relates to a pipe rupture valve with a double conical nozzle arranged behind the valve and consists in that the connection of the nozzle with the control surface takes place at the point of the greatest pressure drop of the nozzle. This is intended to achieve a large and reliable force effect.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is shown in longitudinal section. When the valve cone c is open, the steam flowing into the valve in the direction of the arrow flows through the conically widened nozzle k to the outlet connection. Depending on the size of the steam withdrawal, the steam pressure is temporarily converted into speed in the nozzle h to a greater or lesser extent. A channel f communicating with the cylinder chamber below the piston cl opens into this nozzle at the point of the greatest pressure drop. A channel e connects the cylinder space above the piston d with the inlet port. The piston d is connected to the valve cone c by a rod.
One end of the lever g, which is rotatable about the bolt i and carries the displaceable weight k on its free end, acts on the upper end of the piston rod. Instead of the weight, a spring could be used. As long as the steam extraction and thus the speed in the nozzle h does not exceed a certain amount, the valve cone c is held in the open position by the weight k.
However, as soon as the steam extraction and thus the speed in the conical nozzle h has exceeded this amount and as a result the pressure at the mouth of the channel f in the nozzle h has fallen to a certain amount, the inflow pressure acting on the top of the piston d as a result the pressure reduction on the underside of the piston, which in the present case represents the control surface. the Kolbt'D and thus the valve cone c pressed against the effect of the weight k and thereby the
Valve closed. By shifting the weight k, the pipe rupture valve can be set to any maximum withdrawal.
