Fischbeinstab, insbesondere für Korsette.
Wie bekannt, konnte Fischbein zu Korsettstäben und ähnlichen Gegenständen bisher mit Erfolg nur dann verarbeitet werden, wenn Rohmaterial von besonders guter Beschaffenheit dazu ausgewählt wurde. Die Erfindung bezweckt, Korsettstäbe, Kleiderstäbe und dgl. auch aus Fischbein von weniger guter Beschaffenheit herstellen zu kö eo, ohne dadurch die Gebrauchsfähigkeit und Lebensdauer dieser Stäbe gegenüber den Stäben aus allerbestem Rohmaterial zu schädigen. Dies wird dadurch erreicht, dass der Fischbeinstal) in an sich bekannter Weise auf seiner gesamten Oberfläche mit einem Überzug aus Zelluloid versehen wird.
Auf der Zeichnung ist der Erfindungsgegenstand beispielsweise veranschaulicht, und zwar zeigt Fig. 1 eine Ansicht des Fischbeinstabes und Fig. 2 einen Querschnitt nach der Linie A-B der Fig l.
Der Fischbeinstab a, welcher beliebige Gestalt sowie beliebigen Querschnitt haben kann, ist auf seiner ganzen Oberfläche mit einem Überzug b aus Zelluloid versehen. welcher beliebige Färbung aufweisen und geeignete Politur erhalten kann. Die Herstellung des Überzuges erfolgt, ähnlich wie bei Stahlstäben, in der Weise, dass man den Stab zunächst mit dem einen Ende und danach mit dem anderen Ende in die vorbereitete Lösung eintaucht ; indes kann der Stab auch mit seinem Ende In einen Halter eingespannt sein, mit dessen Hilfe er eingetaucht wird, um nach Herausnahme des Stabes an seinen Enden unabhängig behandelt zu werden.
Als Lösung zur Herstellung des Überzuges wird vorteilhaft in Essigäther auf- gelöstes Zelluloid verwendet, doch kann man natürlich das Zelluloid durch andere gleichwertige Massen ersetzen und sich eines anderen Lösungsmittels bedienen.
Mit einem derartigen Überzug versehene Fischbeinstäbe sind ebenso widerstandsfähig als solche aus bestem Fischbein ; minderwertiges Fischbein erlangt durch den Cheryu zugleich ein besseres Aussehen und eine gleichartige Färbung.

The aim of the invention is to be able to produce corset rods, clothes rods and the like from whalebone of poor quality, without thereby damaging the serviceability and service life of these rods compared to rods made from the very best raw material.
