Die Flächen 1 und 2 des Stollens laufen in zwei im rechten Winkel zueinander stossende Schneidkanten aus, welche mit einer im gedachten Ergänzungsquadrat diametral im Kantonwinkei gegenübertiegenden Spitze in der Trittebene des Stollens liegen. Die erwähnte Spitze wird in Form einer Pyramid , bezw. eines Pyramidenstumpfes oder eines Kegots be/. w. eines Kegelstumpfes durch Einschnitte in den Stollenkörppr derart gebildet, dass deren Begrenzungsflächen die Flächen 3 und 4 sowie die Schnittflächen der genannten Einschnitte sind. Der ganze Stollen wird in der üblichen Weise mit Hilfe des Gewindes 5 in das Hufeisen eingeschraubt.
Die Unterkanten können sägezahnartig ausgenommen sein, ebenso wie es sich unter manchen Verhältnissen empfehlen wird, die beiden Flächen 1 und 2 durch einen Einschnitt in deren Stosskante zu trennen.
Durch diese Ausgestaltung wird ein sicheres Klammern und Stützen des Pferdes erreicht.
