Selbsttragendes Luftkabel.

Self-supporting aerial cable.
It is known to connect electrical cables with suspension ropes or wire wires in order to be able to lead them through the air without the rope being subjected to tension. The suspension rope or the suspension wire was usually attached to the outside of the cable or tied by binding wires or the like, which has the disadvantage that the rope is completely unprotected and, as a result of the fluctuations, rubs on the outer sheath of the cable and thus injures DRP No. 54441). This type of connection is also cumbersome and expensive.
According to the present invention, the support cable or the support wire is provided with a lead sheath at the same time as the cable in the lead press, which consists of one piece with the lead sheath of the cable, whereby it is connected to the cable from the outside in the simplest way. This production method can be carried out extremely quickly and cheaply. The rope is protected, does not damage the cable and, since it is located outside the cable, can be removed or left out in places where it is not necessary.
In the drawing, FIG. 1 shows a cross section and FIG. 2 shows a view of such a cable. 1 is the suitably insulated wire bundle, 2 is the lead sheath surrounding the cable and 3 is a strong wire made of steel or the like. Or a wire strand or a wire rope. This rope is also surrounded by a lead sheath and this is pressed at the same time as the lead sheath of the cable so that both consist of one piece.
The rope 3 serves as a suspension rope when the cable is led through the air or when it is suspended. In order to fasten the rope to the support points, it can be separated from the cable by making a longitudinal cut through the web connecting the two lead sheaths, as shown in FIG. The support cable 3 can then be stretched and fixed by means of a wire tensioner until the appropriate sag is achieved without the cable being stretched as well, which could damage it.
If necessary, two suspension ropes can be connected to the cable in this way, which are then conveniently diametrically opposite one another; Likewise, even more suspension ropes can be arranged around the cable in a suitable manner.
Through the Swiss patent specification No. 36341) cables with two cores are also known, each of which is surrounded by a lead jacket, the two lead jackets being connected to one another by a web pressed together at the same time. This cable is therefore not suitable for one of the two cores to be used as a suspension rope.
