Um die selbsttätige Kupplung wieder in die Arbeitsstellung zurückzubringen, hebt der Arbeiter die selbsttätige Kupplung 6 mit der Hand oder Schulter aus der Stellung Fig. 3 etwas empor und drückt sodann den Hebel 9 nieder, so dass derselbe die Totlage nach rechts überschreitet, worauf die Kupplung durch Nachlassen des Hebels 9 von Hand aus wieder in die ursprüngliche Stellung gesenkt wird.
Bei der tiefsten Stellung der selbsttätigen Kupplung liegt der Teil 14 des Hebels. 9 an dem Absatz 15 an und sperrt die Kupplung in der Arbeitsstellung. Es ist zu bemerken, dass der Hebel 9 bei seiner Bewegung einen längeren Bogen beschreibt als die automatische Kupplung 6, so dass entsprechend dem Unterschied dieser beiden Bögen eine Übersetzung ins Langsame stattfindet und das Heben der automatischen Kupplung mittels des Hebels 9 in gleichem Masse leichter wird.
